FABULOUS

The group had a wonderful time. We are talking about doing it again next year. A few of the women have recommended it to their friends. This is my second time and I would certainly do it again. The tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and a lot of fun to be with. All in all, GREAT

What an exhilerating experience! Jim, our guide, has wonderful in depth knowledge about the North End and Italian histories, the true Italian cuisine and wines, and numerous insider tips on shopping, and where and why. I learned more in 3 hours than in any other class I've taken. My friend who also attended the tour has lived in Boston her whole life and cooked Italian and she raved about this tour!

Just the right amount of historical facts. Our guide, Jim (I think is his name) who was a chef added an element to the food side of things. The tour was much more than anticipated. The parking suggestions were the best. Everyone in my group was thrilled with the tour and our guide as well. The handouts provided were helpful for shopping later and were very informative. You're doing a good job. Thanks. Unless I missed it, It would be helpful to specify where the fire station and library were so we didn't need to ask around. We had passed the fire station one block over on the way to Cross St. and then needed to walk all the way back quickly to go potty before the tour. Had we know the location we could have gone on the way up to Cross. Also, we wanted to give Jim a tip but there was nothing in the paperwork about tipping so we were at a loss as to what to do. You should speak to that in the downloaded paperwork so there would be no question. We are sending Jim a tip in the mail. Cynthia Dumser

Tour went beyond my expectations

Michelle appeared to be as enthusiastic about what she does today as when she started out with her business 13 years ago. She was so informative about the history of the North End as well as a culinary wizzard. She presented her culinary skills with charm and made the material unintimidating. We live about an hour away and will make the North End a destination now that we have the lay of the land. We have reccomended the tour to all our friends!!!!

Great Fun

I had never been to the North End, I knew nothing about Italian cooking and and I am not a cook and I still had a great time. It's a different perspective on a neighbourhood than you would usually get as a tourist. It makes me very curious about Italy and other Italian areas closer to home.

I was excited about the tour, but it far exceeded my expectations. The information, history, Michele's enthusiasm and the vendors at each of the tour stops were just amazing. I would recommend this tour wholeheartedly to anyone that is visiting Little Italy.

The Absolute Very Best Tour of the North End!!!
Fri, Jul 3  3:00 PM stigs2 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Michele is not only an educated culinary expert of Italian cuisine, she truly exudes a genuine fondness for the "neighborhood" of the North End of Boston, as well as its local inhabitants and shop keepers, with tremendous heart and spirit and a terrific sense of humor. This tour was the absolute best tour of the North End of Boston and exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. We sampled so many different delicious items and samples, and met so many interesting people on our tour, that once the tour ended, we immediately returned to all of the shops to make purchases! Our fondness for Italian culture and its people as well as the North End, have doubled and we are anxious to visit this country as well as the North End again very soon. We applaud Michele! She is beyond terrific and I, as well as the rest of our group, are looking forward to another tour with her in the very near future!!! Anyone interested or thinking about taking this tour will be very happy that they did!

We really enjoyed the North End Market Tour. We got a good look at the neighborhood and learned a lot about the neighborhood's history, the culinary traditions of the people who have lived there, and some tips on picking out and using certain ingredients that are relevant today.

A Wonderful Experience

Despite copious rain, our tour guide Jim did a very informative and entertaining job with our group. The emphasis of the tour was information rather than sampling. That information was unique and complete with plenty of background and side facts. The selection of sites included an authentic bakery, an awesome grocery store full of unexpected items, a complete wine shop, a genuine deli and a vegetable market.. I would support the advice to start the tour with a little sustenance. It would be a good idea to rest up also, since there is a lot of standing over the 3 hours. By the time the tour is over you will be ready to dine more completely. The recommended restaurant was one of the best we have ever dined in and that includes plenty in Italy. Overall I have recommended it to all our New England friends we have seen since the tour. I came away with confidence that I had seen the genuine and real Little Italy rather than a tourist's view/
