North End Market Tour

Our guide was very informative, funny and all around entertaining. I especially enjoyed the stop in Marias Pastry shop.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Michele gave an incredible amount of information in a very relaxed casual manner. The stores we visited were terrific, and the samples yummy. My sister was with me - it was her second time on the tour, and I plan to book the tour for my daughters when they visit Boston. Thanks for a one of a kind afternoon. Peggy Moon

We had been to the shops and through the North End before, but this gave us all the history to really understand the community! Michele was an excellent guide, full of information with a great personality! We had fun and sampled many foods I would have never done on my own! I highly recommend this tour!

This was best part of our trip--enjoyed the tour guide and the detail of the history of culture, people and foods. The sampling of food was great!

The tour leader was well informed and communicated well. The culinary and historical information was interesting and educational, both for the cook and the non-cook in the family. There was a good variety of establishments visited.

Michele Topor's North End Italian Market Tour was much more than I expected. She is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide of anything Italian, be it in the North End area or Italy. Her tour information gave me new insights to eating, cooking and good health tips all while walking through the most charming and friendly neighborhood in Boston. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Boston, especially if you are interested in learning from the best about Italian foods. The stores we visited were very friendly with wonderful goods and after the tour, I went back to 3 of them and purchased items (Maria's Bakery Shop shouldn't be missed!). I also ended the day with dinner at the restaurant, Artu, that she recommended! It was excellent! Michelle gives much information on the North End, the Italian culture and the food of the North End. As a couple who enjoys the historical information and particurlarly the information on the cuisine, we cannot overstate our enjoyment of this tour. Michelle is informative and entertaining. We recommend this tour wholeheartedly.

The tour was relaxing, fun,more info then I thought Id use. I wasnt interested in taking notes but I was wrong ! We've already put into use a few of the tips Michele gave us. I wish we could have snuck in a few purchases along the way, although I understand why we couldnt. The North End is another place that when you visit you wish you could stay and the tour, you wish wasnt over. We are back home in California and already reading labels ! Thanks !

I was visiting in Boston and had heard about this tour. For me, it was fascinating since I really haven't had much exposure to Italian markets, bakeries, neighborhoods, etc. Also I had walked the Freedom Trail previously, but otherwise had not explored the North End and had not gone into any of the shops along the way before this tour. I enjoyed going into the various businesses very much. I thought it was a good variety, and very informative. Unfortunately, I had booked the tour the same day I was flying back to Houston so I did not have time to go back to visit all of the shops after the completion of the tour. It would be nice if you could shop as you went along, but then it would be a 6 hour tour instead of 3 hours. I think anyone would enjoy this tour, but those who don't have a local Italian neighborhood should find it especially interesting. And don't miss out on going to lunch in one of the local restaurants!! We picked Artu, and it was absolutely fabulous! I'll definitely go back there for another meal next time I'm in the area.
