the tour was very interesting with lots of little interesting facts of the area. But the tour is way too long, three hours to tour 6 properties was way too much, my girlfriend and I almost left after two hours. if the tour saw more of the north end it would be great, oh and something the tour organisers should think of - ban people from using cell phones. the tour we were on had this group that were doing a photo shoot for some wine magazine and this woman could not stay off her cell phone - really annoying!!! overall yes its interesting but there are better sights to see in Boston |

Michel, owner and guide, was energetic and clearly knowledgeable. The tastings provided at each stop were delicious. My eyes have been opened about the differeces between poor and fine quality Italian ingredients. I LOVED the olive oil, cheeses, pastries and ham. As we walked from place to place, Michele offered enlightening comments on the history of the neighborhood. Probably one of the best tours in Boston. |

Interesting and knowledable guide. I expected and would have preferred more of an introduction to the restaurants/bakeries/coffee shops of the North End rather than an explanation of where to buy ingredients for good Italian cooking. My interest is as a consumer, not as a cook. I also expected many more tastings; particularly conspicuous by its absence was a tasting of Italian liquours at Martinelli's. |

My husband and I had such a wonderful time and it was more than we had excepted. I think our guides name was Ale and he was so delightful and fun. He took his time and really made sure he answered all of our questions and even went out of his way at the end of the tour to show us where the Bread Company was located. It was so much fun to taste things at the local markets and get back ground information.
I would recommend this and now we will be looking into taking another tour with this company to China Town.

My husband and I have been on other culinary walking tours and we thought that this particular one was a bit pricey for the size of samples that we got. It would have been nice to have been provided a small bottle of drinking water,to say the least. Our tour guide was a former chef, he was very knowlegeable about many of the tours products, which made it a learning experience. All in all, i think searching a bit harder for a better tour would be a good idea. |

We had a "stay-cation" and joined Jim Becker on a walking tour of the North End. As a former chef and restaurant owner his knowledge of food and wine and his passion for quality products was evident throughout the three hours we spent strolling through shops. We loved the tour so much when we learned he was leading a tour to Chinatown the following day we signed up for it. We were equally pleased and delighted. It was fun to spend time with the tour participants learning about the nuances of Dim Sum and sampling the variety of delicious foods. We highly recommend it for both local residents and visitors to Boston. |

My mom was visiting so I wanted to do something other than the Trolley Tour. This was perfect. Not too fast, no speed walking and we met several local vendors. The guide was so knowledgable it felt like I was walking with a friend meeting all his neighbors. The tastings we had at the different vendors were light but tasty. I can't wait to go back for groceries. |

Even though I've been coming to the North End for a while, it was so awesome to see new and historical places outside of the commercial establishments. This tour really helped me to understand the importance that food serves in appreciating a culture's history. Thanks so much for a wonderful time. |

Our recent trip to Boston included the Italian Maket Tour of the North End. I highly recommend it to those interested in food & wines. We got a wondeful overview of the area from the tour guide and then the real fun began. Visits to wonderful, small shops that are unique. Samples of delicious pastries, yummy cheeses & meats, an awesome lemon slush & the best balsamic vinegar that I have ever encountered. All of this and more...A wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Boston! |
