I am not much of a cook so I was quite interested in all the information that Jim gave us about different foods and wines. He also told about the history of the North End. His personal stories also caused me to reflect on my younger days with my grandparents who were from Charlestown. It was like going home again! |

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was pleasant, informative & extremely knowledgeable on the North End history and locales. We were only 9 people on tour that morning so it was not a problem fitting in to the small establishments and there was plenty of samples to pass around. The day was very hot & humid and our guide made every attempt to keep us in air conditioning as much as possible. I espacially appreciate the fact that we had printed materials about the places we would be seeing to take plenty of notes for future reference. We spent the rest of the day in the North End and ate supper at one of the recommended restaurants. We were not sorry as our supper was very good.
I have been going to the North End for many years because of my Italian heritage and it's my way of having a taste of Italy locally. After the tour I feel as if I have a much better knowledge of the area & know which stores to go to for certain products. I can't wait to go back & do more shopping. I've told lots of people about the tour & have several who want to do it. I guess I won't have to wait long to do the tour again! |

This tour was very informative and a joy to attend. The guide was professional in his delivery and displayed an in-depth knowledge of the area, stores, products, and Italian way of living in general. He was very approachable and answered any questions the best he could. I enjoyed being able to meet the owners of the stores we visited, it really gave you the feeling that you were in Italy. Thank you for such an enjoyable afternoon. I have recommended it to people already. |

We are a family of 4- 2 parents,23 yr. old daughter and 21 yr. old son. My husband and I had taken the tour a couple of years ago- when our son started college here. Our daughter just got an apt. in the No. End-- so we thought it would be fun for both of them to have the "tour" too.
As soon as our son arrived he told us that he would probably only stay for a short while.(remember this!).
The tour is just wonderful-- full of historical and present day information. The stores we visited were great- esp. the salumeria and the pastry store. Loved getting little treats along the way. We really felt the "pulse" of the neighborhood- and a part of this unique village within the city.
Michelle was terrific- patient, informative and we really understood her love of the No.End and of Italy- esp. Sicily. If I HAD to find something that could be improved-- I would put in 1 other short "sitting" stop along the tour-- other than that- We came home and recommended the tour to all our neighbors. Great job!
Of note-- our 21 yr. old son who intended to leave right away- happily stayed until it ended !! :) |

Our family truly enjoyed this tour, even though the temparature was in the mid 90's. Our tour director, who is a trained shef, really brought out the history & true Italian culture of the North End!!!
We would recommend this to all vistors to the Boston area!!

Our guide was great-shared his knowledge of the North End, not only the food and wine part, but the history of the area and how it has evolved. We loved the tour and would recommend it to everyone old enough to enjoy it. |

Learn quite a lot more food tips and history than actual tasting. Definitely need to eat before and after the tour. Bring your own water and hand sanitizer. |
