Our group (local) had an awesome time! We loved the way Michelle provided us with the cuisine history of the North End. We loved her respect, passion and enthusiasm for the North End. We were an exended family celebrating the 80th birthday of an Italian-born relative, who himself is a true renaissance man. Michele (Topor) was incredible: knowledgeable, passionate, fun and full of practical information. Our group was made up of men and women of all ages - 40's to 80, and eveyone, without exception, loved the tour and learned a lot. . It was a fabulous way to celebrate a family event by doing something fun and educational on a magificent fall day in Boston's North End.

The North End Market tour was very informative even for people who have spent alot of time there over the years. We discovered places that we didn't know about and learned many very interesting things about the North End. Our tour guide was wonderful!

Visited about 8 establishments -- bakery, candy store, green grocer, licquor store, a few general grocery stores, butcher, etc. For most of them you go inside, but a few are too small so you stand outside. Food samples are available at many of the stores. Walking itself includes only about 4 small blocks, but you do stand for 3 hours with only 1 brief sitting break. There really are no bathroom breaks and I really did no see a place we visited that even had a public bathroom. Paper handouts are helpful, including a map of stores visited as well as about 17 other interesting stores. The food tour was the highlight of my trip to Boston. So many good foods! The handouts had some web sites listed where you can order some of the foods.

Loved the information and generous samples of baked goods, candies and dried foods, meats, olive oils and balsamic vinegars, Italian liquors, and more --- all from a knowledgeable neighborhood resident who gave us years of history, food advice, and eating tips in just three hours. All walking tours should be this good!

This tour was so much fun. We learned so much and brought home some great cooking and food shopping tips. I come from an Italian background and loved the old-world neighborhood and the samples were a plus too. It was a three hour tour but went by very fast. One of the best parts of our trip!

We were a family group of 3 and did not know what to expect of the tour. We were very pleasantly surprised at the warm and gracious manner in which we were treated by our friendly & knowledgeable guide and by the wonderful proprietor's and shop employees we visited. Everyone was patient, kind & willing to give insights and good information about their areas of specific expertise. We realized a depth of familiarity with the local Italian community and customs, which we never would have been privy to had we not had this experience. All the food and sampling was great. It was a high point of our Boston visit! Thank you Michelle & Paul!!
