Our guide was a perfect match to the tour- a fun atmosphere and lots of bits of info about the neighborhood and a good rapport with the shopkeepers had us going back on our own to further explore that unique area. Thanks for the positvely great tour. Mind you even though it was raining it was still a ball.

Samples were too small. Not enough time to purchase samples from the stores

Very enjoyable experience over all. Especially liked learning about authentic italian food and customs as compared with Italian-American. A lot to absorb in one tour; maybe fewer stops would be just as good. One wine shop is plenty.

Would Do This Tour Again!

Our tour guide had a love for the area; knew the people and their businesses very well; gave many tips on the ingredients for Italian cuisine. Presentation was well thought out and thorough. We stayed in the North End and enjoyed lunch at one of the restaurants. The only thing I would change is to have the food tips given to us on a fact sheet.

Fascinating tour from the history of the North End, the transformations from Italian to Italian American. I felt like I should've been taking notes because I learned so much! Thanks for a fun tour. It was perfect for our work team building event.

Really Great

Our tour guide, Dick, taught us more about Italian food that I had learned in my 63 years. Really knowledgeable about both the food and the neighborhood. He knew not only the food shopkeepers but also the residents of this interesting area. Even helped an old lady up the stairs of her apartment! We have been on many food tours and really appreciate the way the "tastings" were arranged. We must have had 25 different small bites--everything from different types of pastries to cheeses, olive oils, balsamico and lemoncello--a wonderful sweet Italian liquor. This is the way to see and enjoy Boston!

A tour yes, but a university credit as well

The event is an essential part of any visit to Boston because it is not only a tour of Little Italy, it is a study in food ingredients, healthy eating, and food management. The insights offered for quality pastries, pastas, oils, vinegars, cheeses, breads, wines and more is exhaustive-- and all in a three hour period. My notes from this wonderful ramble are things I will put in place for our household, immediately. The nuts went into the freeze as soon as we got in the house upon our return home. An examination of our oils and vinegars was next and we took the tomatoes out of the refrigerator and placed them on the window sill, upside down. Thanks so much!
