North End Market Tour

Simply excellent. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and easy going. Wonderful.

Our tour guide (Beth) was great. This is the second time we have taken this tour and enjoyed it thoroughly each time. Fun, factual and delicious!!!

Loved the information and we definitely learned a lot about ingredients, Italian history, and the local culture. Weather definitely plays a huge part in the enjoyment of the tour, so I would book during Fall, Summer, or Spring months. I did not like that there was not time placed in the tour for bathroom breaks. This seems very rude and unprofessional. A quick stop for 10 minutes during the tour for participants to use the facilities would be utilized and I am sure much appreciated by the guests.

Our guide was great, easy to query and very knowledgeable about the district. Knew the neighborhood and was well received by the shops that we went into. Our whole group just loved it and went to eat then shopped afterward!

This tour was awesome - cannot recommend highly enough. It transformed the North End from a "touristy" destination to an Historic destination and foodie knowledge treasure trove.

We were a family of cooks interested in the "real" Italian cooking experience. Although we consider ourselves accomplished cooks, Michele was knowledgeable about many nuances in Italian ingredients and cooking that we were not aware of. We are of Italian decent and this tour opened up a world to us that we had not experienced even though our grandparents frequented the North End for hoilday meats and treats, but we had not. With our new information, we wouldn't hesitate to venture into the North End for our Italian groceries from now on. Be prepared, the tour is long, but a good meal at Lemoncello at the end revived us.

I would highly recommend this for both locals and tourists! Between the history and the food, my friend and I learned so much. I can't wait to take back more people when they come to visit.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the North End. Our guide (Jim) was so knowledgeable and considerate, and shared so many interesting details about Italian food and culture as well as the North End. The shops we visited were very hospiitable, and the tastings of their samples were delicious - at the end of the tour, we returned to several shops to purchase more goodies to take home. The tour far exceeded our expectations! We will return to the North End much more often now that we know where to find the best it has to offer! And we can't wait to do the Chinatown tour.

This was such a great tour. We had the pleasure of having Michelle as our tour guide and she really knows her stuff & is willing to share all her knowledge & secrets. Great tastings, and the market owners are so friendly & helpful. Great time for a group of friends or family. We celebrated my sister-in-law's 40th Birthday and Michelle made the whole day very special.

I took this tour with a friend who is a second generation Italian American. For her, it was like reliving meals in a large Italian family. I love cooking and history. Our guide made the tour so enjoyable because of his love of food and the Italian culture.
