This was a great afternoon activity. After spending much time in the North End this tour provided me with knowledge I did not previously have. The stops along the way were entertaining and the guide was knowledgeable and engaging. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to get a little information about the North End.

I was on the tour last year with my daughter and liked it so much that this year we took her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. We had a great time. The man who did the tour is very knowledgeable in the history of the North End. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's not just the food you learn about. You also learn about the neighborhood and what makes it so special.

A friend raved about the tour & I can see why. Our tour leader was fabulous...I didn't expect to learn so much about the history of the North end and Italian culture. The shops and markets chosen were a good mix and the foods we tried were excellent. I can't stop talking about it! Thanks!

We had such a great time. Our tour guide was friendly and very personable. He was very up to date with what is going on in the North End. We had samples everywhere which were fantastic. After the tour we went back to all of the places he brought us to and browsed some more. All in all well worth the money!

My mom was visiting so I wanted to do something other than the Trolley Tour. This was perfect. Not too fast, no speed walking and we met several local vendors. The guide was so knowledgable it felt like I was walking with a friend meeting all his neighbors. The tastings we had at the different vendors were light but tasty. I can't wait to go back for groceries.

This tour was wonderful. Jim gave us so much interesting history about the North End, Italian cuisine, and the many wonderful North End shops. I've lived in Boston for two years, go to the North End frequently, and still never knew that most of these places existed. Although the tour will likely appeal to many tourists, it's almost better for locals who have the ability to return to these great shops and take advantage of all that great information passed along during the tour.

Informative Market Tour with Miniscule Tastings

The tour guide's presentation was excellent providing very interesting North End history and food facts. The tour was scheduled for 1:00 and since we had to commute during the lunch hour we didn't have time for lunch. We were informed NO SHOPPING during tour and food samplings were not enough to hold us over. An espresso/snack break would have helped alleviate our hunger or possibly some bread with the tiny spoonfuls of olive and balsamic vinegar at the salumeria. A food tour in the Italian North End with no food ......not recommended.

I'm a teacher, my husband is a foodie, and we just loved this tour. We have recommended it to several friends as an enjoyable way to spend together, without the kids. The guide was very personable and provides an interesting historical background to the cultures that have shaped the North End neighborhoods. I highly recommend this tour as way to get to know a little about the neighborhood and the many elements that influence Italian cooking.

As a local who spends a good deal of time in the North End during the summer, this tour expanded my knowledge of this part of Boston. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable, and although I am familiar with all the places he took us, he did have some new and interesting info about the places or their goods. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I am looking forward to taking the China Town tour next. I hope I can get the same guide.
