| excellent tour of the north end. i live in the area and went with my parents who came in from out of town.
for the price, i would have expected more food samples and was a bit disappointed in that respect. that said, it is very informative for locals and lends a good grasp of where speciality items in the north end can be found.
summary: too expensive for what it was, but all in all an enjoyable experience. |

| I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is local or visiting the city. I have been on this tour twice with friends and family and learned new things each time. |

| Visited about 8 establishments -- bakery, candy store, green grocer, licquor store, a few general grocery stores, butcher, etc. For most of them you go inside, but a few are too small so you stand outside. Food samples are available at many of the stores. Walking itself includes only about 4 small blocks, but you do stand for 3 hours with only 1 brief sitting break. There really are no bathroom breaks and I really did no see a place we visited that even had a public bathroom. Paper handouts are helpful, including a map of stores visited as well as about 17 other interesting stores.
The food tour was the highlight of my trip to Boston. So many good foods! The handouts had some web sites listed where you can order some of the foods. |

| The guide was very knowledgeable and likeable. The places we visited were great! I would recommend reducing the time by about 20-30 minutes. |

| I went on this tour with my sister and her husband from Chicago, both enthusiastic cooks who know little about the area and were interested in learning about local history, and my boyrfriend who lived in the North End for two years. We all had a great time. My boyfriend said he should have done this _before_ he moved to the North End. He would have had a much deeper appreciation of the neighborhood--not to mention a lot more interesting options for food shopping than the corner grocery store where he usually went. My sister and her husband were thoroughly entertained. And I thought our guide (don't remember his name) was very smart, witty, and well-versed in both neighborhood history and culinary arts. We all agreed we would like to rent him for a week! A lot of the tastings were very sweet, but even the men--both of whom claim they don't like sweet things--tried and enjoyed everything. I've been telling my friends to do this. |

| Great review of history of the north end and Italian cuisine and culture. It was a really great way to be introduced to some of the shops of the north end. Although, I would think it wouldn't have been quite as useful for someone from out of town. |

| My mother and I went on the Tour on a Saturday Morning with a lovely older gentlemen as a tour guide (his name escapes me at the moment). The tour was better then we had imagined. Our guide was informative, but not in the boring scripted way that tour guides offer are. He shared expericences, storys to enhance the information that he was providing. Anyone interested in the old neighborhood should go see what Michelle and her guides have to offer. |

| I recently moved to the area and this was a wonderful way to learn about the neighborhood, it's culture, history and all it has to offer. Our group was lucky to have Michele as tour guide and she was wonderful! It would have taken me years of living here to learn all I did in one morning! Whether you live in the city, the suburbs or are on vacation, this is a must-do. |
