Although it was freezing cold and spitting rain, our fantastic tour guide Beth, kept us warm and well imformed. The tour was very well organized, information packed and super interesting. We felt that we learned a tremendous amount about the North End and will go back with a better idea of where to go and what to do. Thanks for a really nice day! |

My friend and I took the morning tour and thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed the morning, even though it was raining and cold. Our tour guide Beth was incredible - very personable, humourous, friendly, patient, and really knew her stuff. We will definitely do this tour again and definitely recommend to friends and family. |

It was very informative and well organized. Samples were great, liked the list of recommended restaurants and shop descriptions. Loved the North End neighborhood and can't wait to go back there next year. Maybe we'll do the Chinatown tour next time! |

Jim was an excellent guide. He made us feel like part of the North End. I had my 23 year old niece with me and she enjoyed it as much as I did. I would also like to take the Chinatown.
Thanks.

This was a very nice tour. The guide was so full of interesting facts. We thoroughly enjoyed the tastes of the local food and learning about the area and how it developed into what it is today. |

Group of 6 women. Some have done this tour before but not recently. We chose to do the morning session, a time when it is much less crowded on the streets and in the shops.
Our guide was prompt and very well informed (not Michele who operates the tour, but definitely as well informed and pleasant!). A brief history of the North End was included at the start of the tour, but this is NOT an historical tour or a tour of the North End per se. Throughout the tour, our guide discussed Italian cooking and eating throughout the different areas of Italy.
Handouts were provided of the markets we stopped in, plus several others mentioned. A listing of local restaurants including brief info on them was distributed. This was definitely a helpful addition to the tour.
At every stop we were offered "samples" for tasting and this was much more than our last trip and greatly appreciated! One really was able to test the difference, say, in pine nuts produced in different world areas. Also a few of the markets provided informational handouts.
This is definitely a tour I would do again. It also whets your appetite to return and explore all of the neighborhood as well as revisit many of the markets.
The tour directions for driving were easy and accurate and parking was reasonably priced and easily accessible.
The only potential downside, which we did NOT encounter, would be rainy or otherwise inclement weather as much of the time we were outdoors. Also, if you need a bathroom, they are available as described in the tour info, but one should really plan to not need one until the tour is done!
We had an excellent experience overall! |

I recently moved to Boston and came across this tour while looking online for things to do during my mom's visit. Since we are both cooks, I thought this sounded perfect. It was! Our guide Beth was very knowledgeable about the history of the North End and food. The shops were very friendly and helpful, and everything was so tasty! We ended up going back to several of the shops and purchased some ingredients to impress my friends that night with an authentic Italian meal. We had a blast! |

Very interesting even for someone who has spent a fair amount of time in the North End. Tour guide was very entertaining for the entire three hours. |
