Although I have lived 20 miles north my entire life, I have never explored Boston's North End. Our tour guide, Beth, was very informative, and we learned a great deal. I appreciated the hand-outs at the end with good tips! It was great to meet the storekeepers. The weather on Saturday was horrible - the only thing worse would've been snow! It was a nor'easter - strong winds, torrential rain. Everyone was dressed for the elements, however! For the price, I would have liked the tour to have been a bit longer, adding a couple more stops. But, it really was fun, in spite of the weather! Our group was (3) life-long friends celebrating our birthdays.

I learned so much about the North End, which is good because the other Boston tour I registered for did not even mention the region.

I bought this tour as a present to my sister who loves the North End and didn't expect to enjoy it so much myself! We were both very entertained by the tour and our guide who gave the perfect amount of information--wasn't overwhelming, but we learned a lot. Next summer we plan to do the Chinatown tour as we bet it will be just as fun.

Michelle provided great history about the neighborhood and fun culinary facts. We are excited to go back to the little markets now that we have more information about what to buy and how to compare the quality of products.

We enjoyed every minute and only wish the tour could have been longer but understand the time constraints. We learned so much. Jim was extremely knowledgeable and very informed about the North End from it's early days to what it is today. His culinary expertise was evident and he could not have been more personal. All of the shop personnel were generous to allow us into their space and they were all very courteous. We will be recommending this tour without question. A meal or perhaps a cooking class would be a nice addition. Walking up and down the streets of the North End with the residents going about their daily shopping routines, listening to all of the different languages, watching them interact with the shop keepers and seeing what they purchased gave us a real sense of living there. It was fun to be among them!

We were a group (small) of 2 men and 1 lady. There would have been another lady but she was ill (much to her disappointment). We found the tour thoroughly entertaining and our guide, Jim, was very knowlegeable about all the aspects of Italian history, culture, food, customs and the like. We ladies were a little worried that the our husbands might not like the tour as well as we thought we would ..... but, everyone that participated in the tour had a wonderful time -- didn't want it to end. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Boston or natives, for that matter, As a matter of fact of friend of mine, who is a native Bostonian, recommended this tour and I can't thank her enough. Thanks for a great Boston experience! Pam Armanino

I loved this tour and I highly recommend it! We received great information on the Italian/Mediterranean diet and were able to learn about their culinary culture. We were also given the history of the area and got great recommendations of the restaurants in the area.
