Michele does a superb job of guiding you through the streets of the North End. We are from CT and have spent many weekends in Boston. Michele is an excellent guide. Her tour is fun and very informative and very well planned. I have already recommended this tour to family and friends. In fact, I am looking forward to taking the tour again! Don't miss this tour if you are looking for a great way to spend a nice afternoon filled with history, nutritional information and wonderful tastings!

We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and were very impressed with our tour guide, Beth. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Italian culture and the North End. It is a great way to learn about places that are off the beaten path. Highly Recommended!

I felt like Al really made this tour! he was knowledgable and funny, but didn't turn the charm on too much. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family, and I would specify that they ask for a tour with Al!

Although it was raining the day of our tour, it didn't ruin the wonderful experience that we had. Our guide Rebecca did a great job of explaining the North End history and what to look for in different food items. I will never look at EV oil the same way again! The 3 hours went by very quickly. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Italian culture. The food samples were very enjoyable too! thanks again.

We had a wonderful time with Jim, our guide. He explained the history of the North End, which was very interesting. He was extremely knowledgeable about the various foods we tried and gave us excellent recommendations regarding restaurants and stores where we later returned to purchase food and/or eat! Would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to the area and look forward to taking the Chinatown tour the next time we are in Boston.

We truly enjoyed and learned so much from our N E tour with Suzi. She was both a delightful and knowledgeable host and I cannot recommend the experience enough! I am telling everyone I know to try it.

A little too long.

The tour was well organized and informative, but about 20 minutes too long. This might have been due to 14 people in our group instead of the recommended 10.

Better than expected!

Jim was extremely knowledgeable and very down to earth. There was so much history, both about Chinatown and the Chinese culture to learn and absorb. I never would have expected to learn so much and have so much fun. I also feel so much more comfortable going into Chinatown and ordering meat, bakery items or Dim Sum. Thanks!

We left the Cape about 6:30 and made good time to meet Jim at the Gate. Fortunately, I spoke with him the day before and he gave me very specific directions for parking. Worked great. What we thought would be fun.... it went way beyond that. Four out of 5 of our group talked with the pharmacist at the Herbal stop and bought something for our, headache, sore muscle and sleep. On to the market and I bought a pomolo (sp). I had my first one in Hawaii years ago. Jim was so knowlegeable about the foods, how to cook, the nutrients, and we were just overwhelmed with his knowlege and expertise. Along to a new adventure with the Bubble Tea! We were eager to get to the dim sum... Having been to many in NY and CA and Asia... I was pleased to have his expertise explaining foods. Also it was neat that we celebrated someone's birthday the 'Asian Way. ' I am eager to purchase a Christmas gift of the Chinatown Tour for 2 of the priest at my church who are good friends and would love to go after I told them all about it. Just need to know how to do this. I bet Jim knows all the answers... Louise

This tour was loads of fun. Jim was amazingly knowledgeable about the area and Took us to a great variety of places. I would never have gone into the pharmacy or grocery store on my own but it was fascinating and amazingly interesting. I would highly Recommend this tour.

My husband and I (empty-nesters) have been to Boston many times and have eaten in the North End on several occasions. We usually end up at the same tried-and-true places, but heard that the tour would introduce to more places to shop and eat. The tour was excellent. We enjoyed hearing the history of the North End, finding new restaurants, butcher shops, delis, bakeries and liquor stores. Learning what to look for on labels and the variations in the foods was very informative. The tastings were great. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

North End Coming Back

I lived in Boston in the mid-70's and worked near Quincy Market. Being of Italian heritage and loving food, I spent a lot of time in the North End. Since then I gradually became disappointed when I would visit. The area seemed a bit tired, and I had lost any local connection. It is nice to know that the younger Italian generation is revitalizing the North End. Our group greatly enjoyed the history, shopper's and eater's inside tips and of course the tasting samples. We cannot wait to return to relax, eat and explore. We were thrilled to find out about Bricco Suites, as well.
