| My friends and I hghly recommend this tour. Although it rained from beginning to end, it was the most informative and fun time we have had in a long time. Our guide Jim was interesting and very knowledgable not only about the North End but also about food in general. He was great!!! We are definitely going to book the Chinatown Tour next. Thank you! | ||||||

| I had been on this tour 3 years ago (same tour guide -- and Jim didn't diasppoint the 2nd time around). When my bridge group was looking for an outing to spend our bridge kitty on I enthusiastically suggested this tour. Even with the pouring rain this Sat, we were not disappointed. Everything about it was enjoyable. It has the right mix of history -- culture, food, area. It had the right mix of establishments. I learned some new stuff and got a refresher on some other information. The number on the tour was just right. Suggestion for a place to go for a drink afterwards was perfect. Am glad we ended at the Marie's instead of starting there because we were able to buy all sorts of goodies without going back. My group wants to do the Chinatown Tour when we replenish the kitty. | ||||||

| The company was accommodating (we booked too late, so they arranged a new tour group!), Michele was an amazingly funny and knowledgeable tour guide, the food was delicious, and the takeaways of where to shop and eat in the North End were awesome for us local Bostonians. Overall, I would recommend to any group of friends, couples, or visiting families. 5 stars! | ||||||

| I was in Boston for professional reasons by myself. I have been on a few other food tours and know it's a good way to see the city and the places where the locals go. I knew it would be a good thing to do by myself because other people would be on the tour. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain the day of the tour but that didn't disturb how amazing the Italian food tour ended up being. Michele Topor was the tour guide, and she was so knowledgeable as she has lived in the area for 40 years. We were able to taste odds and ends from that part of the city. I think the only thing I wish we could have tasted was pasta. However, after the tour, I went to one of the recommended local restaurants and had amazing pasta. I suggest doing it within your first couple of days of visiting because then you know the great restaurants and surrounding area. I would go again for sure! | ||||||

| The tour guide, Michelle Topor, was so fantastic! She was beyond out expectations. There were 3 of us in my group, (8 total on the tour), 2 out of towners, (CT), and 1 who lives in Boston. I would highly recommend this tour even for people who live in Boston, because Michelle took us to the places that were off the beaten path and tucked away. She took us to the authentic Italian places where you would go to buy the good stuff. Michelle was so incredibly knowledgeable, I wish I had taken notes. But the great thing about that is, Michelle gave us her card and said to email with any questions, and even for recipes! I would even do this tour again because it was so much fun. I really can't say enough about Michelle, she certainly lives up to her amazing reputation! This tour is a must for anyone in Boston who loves Italian food and culture. | ||||||

| The forecast for the day was driving rain all day long, so needless to say I was not looking forward to taking the tour. I have to say that I was so happy that we didn't stay home because of the rain. It was one of the best tours I have ever taken. Our tour guide, Jim, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the North End. He taught us so much, not only about the history of the North End, but all about true Italian cooking. I learned so much about how to shop for produce, spices etc., and where to go for the best pastries! The shop owners were accomodating and very friendly. I would recommend this tour to everyone! I have told all my friends and family that they MUST take this tour next time they are in Boston. Jane | ||||||

| We had the pleasure of taking the tour in the mid-afternoon. Jim was our guide with a great sense of the culture of the neighbourhood and obviously someone the locals recognized and appreciated. His stroy-telling was meant to teach us a little of the history of the North End and the waves of settlement. The focus was on the existing Italian culture and the places that the locals shop and eat at. His experience as a chef and his knowledge of Italian culture in both the country of Italy and its manifestation in Boston providing interesting insight into how people eat and live here and how that evolved from the history of food in Italy. In terms of practical elements, Jim provided us with all kinds of shopping tips and insights that apply to us at home in Canada. we in fact returned to a number of the shops in the following days to pick out and try items for ourselves. The three hours passed quickly. I would also recommend the tour of the Chinatown as well as I expect Jim does an equally inspiring talk as his academic studies were in Asian studies. We can unequivically give our expereince a 5 out of 5. | ||||||

| If you're interested in Italian food and would like to learn how real Italians eat, shop and live, this is the tour for you. Jim, our tour guide, provided insider information that even my husband (whose family is Italian) enjoyed learning. So go, be in the know and enjoy being Italian for the day! | ||||||

| This was a great and inspiring tour! I was moved to start cooking authentic Italian food and now know where I can find the freshest ingredients. The tour guide was informative and insightful--quite a delight. I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to know more about the North End, Italian cooking, or just looking for an enjoyable experience. | ||||||

Best Birthday Present Ever

| Rajeev and I did not know what to expect but he is a "foodie" so I knew he would enjoy a tour about food. From the first second our tour guide began to speak we instantly got excited about what we were about to explore. We loved the behind the scenes mom and pop shops and we learned so much about food and how we are going to buy now. There was a lot I could relate to being a bit Italian myself and a ton a did not know. Rajeev even got a homemade cake and candle from Maria's Bakery to our surprise! He said to me afterwards that it was the best birthday gift he has ever had....I agreed. I have told many of my friends already about this tour. Definitely worth doing. | ||||||

| Jim Becker was and is an outstanding guide. We were lucky enough to have a very small group (4 in total) on our tour which I felt made our tour even more personal. Jim is extremely engaging and very likable. Jim's stories along the tour about the history of the North End were very enlightening and entertaining. As a person who loves to cook but is not Italian, I found Jim's knowledge of the local ingredients from all the shops/vendors came in very handy the next day when we back to the North End to shop for specialty items! I am a Travel Consultant by profession and would enthusiastically recommend this tour to my clients and any who are interested in obtaining a greater appreciation for such a special area of Boston. | ||||||

| Our tour consisted of my husband, adult daughter and myself. The tour was beyond my expectations. Our tour guide (sorry, I've forgotten her name) was fantastic. She was knowledgable, definitely familiar with the community and a pleasure to listen to. I also appreciated the fact that she had lived in Italy and gave us further insight on some traditions. All the markets we entered were facinating and the proprietors very accomodating. Of course the food samples were great. We went home with all the makings of a wonderful dinner and enjoyed not only the flavors of the day but knowing where, when and how it all came about. The most delicious and informative afternoon I've spent in a long time. I highly recommend it! | ||||||
