  I arranged this tour as part of a birthday weekend for my mother who is of Italian heritage. She absolutely LOVED it! We had so much fun visiting the different shops & learned a lot! Jim was an excellent guide & we continually marveled at his knowledge/presentation skills. He recommended an AMAZING restaurant for lunch....a true North End gem that we will definitely come back to!

  Our tour guide was very informative, as well as entertaining. I learned a lot that I didn't know about the history of the North End, as well as many fun facts! Some of the stores can be a little crowded, but that is to be expected. The only part of the tour that was difficult for me was the standing - at one point we stood almost 30 minutes in the same spot. This might be difficult for some, particularly older guests. Overall I would recommend this tour, I got tickets for my mother and I as her mother's day gift and we had a wonderful time. There were small tastings at most of the stores/shops we stopped at - you won't get "full", but it was overall a nice preview of some of the interesting products the shops have to offer.

  My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the North End with our tour guide, Beth. We visited some lovely stores and met some great people! Beth was extremely knowledgeble about Italian food and culture. She gave us many great tips on what to look for in choosing Italian food and wine, as well as food/wine tips in general. We were also given a mini-history lesson of the North End, as well. We had a wonderful time! My only complaint is that it was too short with the tour ending before I knew it. After the tour, my husband and I spent another hour "rounding up" all the goodies we wanted to take home with us, recommended by Beth during the tour. I will definitely recommend this activity to family and friends in the future!

  Always leave them wanting more. We had six wonderful stops, each one a different flavor. Our guide was warm and enchanting, full of information and suggestions. He kept our entire group mesmerized. The time flew by. My biggest regret was that the stores were closed when we were done and we just didn't have enough time on this trip to go back and shop. But we want more. We now have to come back to Boston to eat and shop and have more time to enjoy all our new knowledge. Thank goodness for handouts. What a glorious afternoon we had. Thank you.

  I learned alot about the North End it's history and local flavor. I would recommend this tour. The time flew by. The guide was accomodating and friendly. I would like to have done more walking through the neighborhood to familiarize myself with other areas. I would also have liked to have seen a tour of a local restaurant kitchen in preparation of night fare.

  My friends and I all loved this tour. Michele is extremely knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history of the North End, and local color. We visited some great stores and sampled lots of the local food. In fact, I enjoyed the tour so much that I'm going to look into taking one of the culinary tours to Italy that she leads.

  Michele is an excellent tour guide/historian with a great knowledge of where and how the local american italian cuisine was created and why. It is a short tour in distance traveled but it was filled with the insight that only a local of Boston's Little Italy and frequent traveler to Italy could give. Our son was alittle young (2) and restless on the 3+ hour tour which was to be expected so I spent alot of time entertaining him and talking to the locals on the street, everyone was super friendly, a real community spirt. We both had a great time. The tour was a suprise gift for my wife who misses Italy and loves to cook. At first she was like "3 hour walking tour!" but at the end she was amazed how much she enjoyed it (& how quick the time went by) and was so happy that we went back the next day and she gave me the condensed tour (I think she just wanted to sample more of the italian food). I highly recommend the tour but, again, it is not really kid friendly. I knew that going in so I was prepared to distract and entertain, but if you dont it could be a disaster for everyone. We enjoyed it so much we are looking into joining Michele on her food tour of Italy.

  Our guide Michele was quite unique. So much knowledge and personal attention for us as a group and respect for the area and the people. Our weather was perfect for the tour. Our group was diverse and celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, Memorial Day weekend etc. All ages. . My husband and I had a great time and would recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Boston.

  Our guide was perfect! He provided a weath of historical information and current insights about the area, the people and the food & drink. My wife and I (in our 60's) and our sons (26 & 29) thoroughly enjoyed our 3 hour adventure. Within our group were locals and tourists. All seemed to enjoy the tour. I highly recommend it.

  We had Jim, who combined his knowledge of food, history, Italian and Italian-American culture into a marvelous tour that was well-paced, dynamic and fun. I have trained tour guides for 35 years and I know a good one when I see it!

  I was going on this tour because once I had told my wife about it, there was no turning back. I can't say I was looking forward to it, but I was so WRONG! This was one of the best, most informative, and tasty tours that I have ever taken. I'm a picky eater, so I was really concerned, but I had a blast. Our tour guide was a chef who was currently on a break from working, but he was so knowledgeable and friendly. Every stop on the tour was an EXPERIENCE. I've never done anything like it, but I hope to find more tours like this one in other cities I visit. Enjoy, I know my wife and I did. We've been raving about the tour to anyone who will listen.

  Our tour guide, Jim, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the North End neighborhood, culture, and food. Seeing and smelling everything he described in small shops and groceries was fascinating, and even more fun when we could taste samples. The tour requires lots of standing, but was a highlight in many visits and tours of Boston.
