| This was a wonderful cultural experience. Our tour guide Jim was very knowledgeable about Chinese languages, customs, history, and of course, cuisine. I highly recommend this tour, especially for Boston locals who will be able to frequent the local shops. My husband and I will definitely be signing up for the North End tour. A bargain considering the amount of time and expertise of the guide! Thanks Jim! | ||||||

| Chinatown is very busy and impossible to go on you own. It was wonderful having a guide who spoke fluently the language and led us through the ins and outs of the area. Since we are foodies ourselves, it was really great taking a walk through the local shops and tasting and learning all the way. The dim sum lunch was outstanding...something we would not have tried on our own. The supermarket was an experience with all the fresh sea life and Chinese-specific vegetables some that I have never seen before but anxious now to use...another reason it was nice to have an experienced chef along. | ||||||

| Loved the tour as it answered many questions that I have often wondered about...olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pastas etc. It was fun.....our guide was exceptional being a chef himself, he was more than could be hoped for. Also we did luck out and it was only the 4 of us which made it very personalized. Thanks alot! | ||||||

| We saw all the hideaways and hidden jewels that are hard to find on your own. The guide was an experienced chef and had great depth of knowledge and very congenial. Wonderful day! We liked it so much that we took the Chinatown tour. | ||||||

| This a great tour to learn the history of Boston's North End and its rich Italian culture, traditions, and symmetry of the Italian provinces. Three hours of touring will open your eyes to the importance of healthy unadulterated food in your daily diet, wholesomeness, and regional authenticity. You will want to go home change your eating habits, becoming healthier in the process and having your family enjoy your cooking more. Look forward to going back on your own, buying great foods with a rich history. | ||||||

| My daughter & I were given this gift certificate from my office staff. And, I signed up on my daughter's 24th birthday in June. The tour guide was extremely knowledgable, interesting, funny, & thorough. His choices of a bakery, market shop, vegetable store, cheese & deli shop & wine store were perfect. His stories & tales were enjoyable. At our 1st stop, Maria's Pastry Shop, we were surprised with a sweet birthday cake for my daughter. That was so thoughtful. | ||||||

| This tour was brilliant. The details and descriptions of food interwoven with the Italian way of life, the samples we tasted, the obvious love that our host has for the Italian way of life and food was engaging and contagious. This tour is a "must do" for anyone visiting Boston. | ||||||

| My family and I loved the food tour of the North End! Jim was a great guide- he was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and a lot of fun! We enjoyed the different stores we went to and the different ingredients we got to taste. We could not get enough of Maria's amaretto macaroons! We also love the prosciutto and cheese from the meat grocery we went to. Thanks for a great time! | ||||||

| I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like a more in-depth look at the North End of Boston. I loved meeting Pat, the 94 year old resident of North End, sitting on his park bench, dressed up, and loving to talk to each group of people as they passed. He could surely tell the stories about that street in those early years of the century. The stores we visited were authentic, the owners and family members genuine. I felt like we talked a little too much, spent too much time in a very few establishments. I wanted to see more than that one small area of the neighborhood. A more fast paced, more coverage, etc. would be my recommendation. | ||||||

| I had been wanting to do the tour for years and was very excited about it. It was the perfect day weather wise and the tour guide was very personable. It was different than I had anticipated. There seem to be alot of discussion on history which seem to overshadow the "food" aspect. I was also a little disappointed in the tastings that we did. Some of the foods were an odd choice and trying the balsamic & olive oil by spoon caught be by surprise. I loved the concept, it just didn't meet my expectations. | ||||||

| The tour gave us a different perspective on the North End,even tough we've been there many times. Found some places I will make a destination next time we visit. Thank you - we'll be doing your Chinatown tour next! | ||||||

| Our tour guide was easy to follow and fun to boot. (It probably helped that she is a special education teacher.) The amount of knowledge she relayed was amazing. The tour was so informative and the food was amazing. My husband and I immediately began planning shopping trips to the Italian shops we toured. We are already planning taking our parents on the tour next month. | ||||||

| Perfect driving directions led us to a small parking garage in Chinatown. We were nervous about driving into Boston but it was easy. Jim was a great tour leader with experience living/studying in China and also as a professional chef. He was always concerned for our comfort. It was good to sit in a small garden area for his history lecture before we started out. The food samples were perfect and I think we all saved our little boxes of candy until after our dim sum meal. My husband and I shouldn't have eaten a pastry before the tour since Jim had a savory bun for each of us to begin the tour. We felt welcome in each shop both during the tour and after when we returned to shop. Allow plenty of shopping time after lunch. I highly recommend making a grocery list based on recipes you want to try because there are so many things you will want to buy at the market. I had a folded grocery bag in my purse. It was lovely to share the dim sum lunch with other members of the tour group and have Jim explain each dish as well as more information about Chinatown history. My husband has spent years avoiding trips to Boston but he really enjoyed the tour and thought Jim was a terrific host. All in the tour except my husband had been on the North End Tour. The tours are a great way to learn about very unique neighborhoods. A great map and list of Jim's favorite restaurants was also included. I hope to return soon for more great dining and shopping. | ||||||
