Very enjoyable 3 hour Italian tour of Boston North end. The Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. The only recommendation that I would have is having more tasting of samples or larger quantities for the price that is charged.

A family affair

Rather than the usual-going out to eat-with friends/family we were looking for something a little different. Our group included myself -- the mom and my 2 adult daughters. Three of us had a great time and highly recommend this activity. As a tour guide myself, I appreciated Jim who was very accomodating, providing history, lots of food info and humor, and hand outs. We couldn't wait to go back the next day and retrace our steps to make our purchases. If you are looking for an unusual present for birthday or ?, this is it!

I live locally and this was my 3rd time going on the tour. Each time, I've gone with friends and everyone has had a wonderful time. We all learned a lot, discovered new places in the North End that are off the usual tourist track, and sampled a variety of delicious foods along the way. We also learned a lot about the history of Boston and the various immigrant migrations. Our guide was very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. This is well above the usual tour experience. I highly recommend it.

This tour was recommend to us by another couple who recently went on the North End food tour. It was so informative and interesting. The time flew by. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is either from out-of-town or lives locally. My son and his wife, who live in Lincoln MA, were with us and totally enjoyed it.

We enjoyed our tour and the information about the North end. It was a great way to begin our 5 days on Boston. We ate at Maria's every morning as well as frequenting Monica's and Ralph's grocery.

Can't recommend this tour highly enough! We tasted, we watched, we drank and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of information that our knowledgeable guide gave us and showed us. We now feel as though we are experts on Italian ingredients. It was a wonderful, fun fact filled, easy paced tour.

My sisters and I were together in Boston for a Girls' Weekend - they're from Tulsa and I'm from northern Maine. I'd heard about the tours from an old college friend who lives just outside of Boston. We all had a wonderful time and would recommend the tours to anyone who's interested in both food and history. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was a joy to listen to. Thanks for the wonderful time. I'd also like to try to Chinatown tour now.

It was one of those delightful days that took us by surprise. We were immediately drawn into the tour by the sights and inviting garlic flavor wafting in the air. Our guide was very knowledgeable about both the history and the businesses of the North End. He made it fun and interesting. We had just enough of a taste to make us look forward to going back again and again. I felt like I was on vacation. Thank you!

We had four people, three of whom were Italian. They shared their family traditions as well and that added depth to the experience. My husband and I live in NH and are transplants to the area. We needed to know where to find Italian supplies. Thank you. It was fun and informative.

Wonderful way to experience Chinatown Boston

I am fascinated with American Chinese neighborhoods. Recently toured San Francisco but the only food we had was a dim sum luncheon. This Boston tour was different from my prior experience. Food oriented and we got to try out Chinese barbecue, pastries, bubble tea, and dim sum. I had no idea what bubble tea was and it was very good. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I also know where I can find good Chinese ingredients at their supermarket in Chinatown. Learned about dim sum at our lunch as our guide picked out things to try. Very enjoyable day.

My husband and I attended the 9am tour w/ Dick last Sat. He was very informative and a lot of fun. We not only learned about some delicious items to taste and savor but some of the history of the neighborhood and recommended places to return to on subsequent visits. Dick seemed to know many characters along the way and was considerate of others as we gathered on sidewalks or in tiny stores. We of course returned, after eating a delicious lunch on our own, to some of the merchants to buy their products before we went home. It felt a beginning exploration and we are looking forward to returning many times in the future. My husband said he did not know it was a food tour and if he had, he would not have gone but afterward, he said "I had a blast!" It was also helpful to have the informative handouts to refer to at a later time. We highly recommend this tour and thank our fabulous guide.

Really enjoyed learning about the geography & culture of various sections of China in the guide's historical perspective offered at the beginning of the tour. Most things we knew nothing about. Our tour guide (Lang?) was a good speaker & really knew the Boston Chinatown area very well. She was able to keep our group out of the way of regular customers in the shops - which I'm sure the shopkeepers appreciated. Although much of the food at the lunch was not anything we we would probably ever order again, it was still very nice to learn about it & see how it was presented.

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. It is perfect for people who live near Boston and love to cook with the best of ingredients, fresh with quality. We learned a bit of local North End history and had fun visiting the various stores on the tour. The three hours flew by. Our guide, Jim, was TERRIFIC!! I highly recommend this activity whether you live locally or not. Would encourage my best friends to do it. We ate every afternoon meal in the North End and appreciated having Michele's recommendations for restaurants.
