We loved it!

My In-laws were here visitng from Florida and we took them on the tour. Even so we llive just outside the city in Lexington and have eaten in the North End many times it was so interesting that we will never again look at the North End in the same.way.The walking was easy for them and the tour guide was wonderful. Just one thing, maybe a bathroom stop half way would be helpful. We would absolutely recommed you! Rhonda and Jeff Robbins 5 Tufts Road Lexington, Ma

Not just for visitors, locals can enjoy this tour!

Beth, our guide, was wonderful. Overall the North End experience with her was informative, fun and delicious! I visited spots I've only casually passed by but now will be permanent visits every time I am in the North End. Living in Boston is faced paced. A tour like this allows you to stop and smell not only the roses but all the wonderful parts of this neigborhood. I HIGHLY recommend this tour, especially to the locals who may be overwhelmed or confused by what's available to them in the North End.

Learn A Lot About the North End

This was a great tour of the North End. I really learned a lot about the area, even though I am local and thought I knew a lot already!

Not Worth the High Cost of the Ticket

My husband and I thought it was interesting, but didn't learn alot and thought the ticket price was very high for the value of the tour. We did feel we were lucky that there were only 6 of us as we saw later tours that were 12 to 14 persons and that is way too many for the crowded streets and small shops.

Great insider tour of a fascinating neighbourhood.

I got so much more out of visiting the North End with the group than I would have on my own. Not only did we get to taste some delicious foods, but we learned so much about them. Who knew there was a difference between Chinese and Italian pine nuts and between Nutella for the North American market and that made for the Italians. It was good to be part of a small group. I didn't have that sense of being herded about and we didn't overwhelm the small shops we visited. I would certainly recommend it to friends wanting to get to know the North End and its food.

This is a must-see-do for anyone interested in learning about Boston's China Town. The guide is outstanding...he had a great wealth of knowledge that he shared in a fun and interesting way. He even speaks Chinese which made a few of the people working in the shops do a double-take (he is a "long-nose"--something he'll explain on the tour!). The food we tasted at the different shops were outstanding and the Dim Sum lunch was out of this world. I went to college in Boston but my experience with China Town was minimal (2AM trips to restaurants!). I wish I had known then what I now know after going on the tour. China Town is filled with wonderful shops and unique foods. I look forward to going again on my own and visiting the stops on the tour. I did the North End tour last spring and thought that was wonderful too. However, this tour surpased my North End experience. That Dim Sum lunch was what did it for me! Enjoy!

My tour was a Christmas gift from my daughter. We both went on the tour. Even though she lived in the North End, many places on the tour she had never visited. The tour was perfect gift. We had a great day together.

Tour guide ( Dick) was very knowlegable and enjoyable to be with. I would recommend adding 1 or 2 stops and shortening 1 or 2 visits. Perhaps a restraurant or something with a little different twist than the markets. I have recommended it to others. Thanks.

My mom and I went on the North End Food Tour a food days ago and had a wonderful time. The guide was very friendly, enthusiastic and knew so many interesting things about the North End, its history and Italy as well. Highly recommended! It was a fabulous tour, we really enjoyed it.

Very informative but a Little too long

The gentleman who ran our tour was so very nice and gave us some wonderful history of the area. I just think that some of the stops could have been a little shorter. All in all I would recommend this to friends.

We found the tour to be very interesting. We went with my 25 -ear-old daughter and her new boyfriend and they also enjoyed it very much. They live in Boston and are planning on going back and checking out the stores/restaurants which were recommended. A few more samples would have been nice, but we truly enjoyed what we got. Just a few fine points: Have a stop in the middle to sit down. We were hot and would have enjoyed the break. It was a lot of standing. We did the great lemon slushes near the end and were very hot by then. The directions said that we met near the Paul Revere house. Cross and Salem are not near there at all. A few store names that were located near there would have been helpful. Loved the handouts and will use them in the future. We found Michelle to be very knowledgeable and she quickly answered any questions. We realize that these were her opinions and thought very highly of them. I would not hesitate to book another trip with this site on my return visit. Well done.

Everyone should do this...

Our tour guide, Jim, was fantastic! His general knowledge of the the culture as well as Boston's Chinatown was impressive. Althought the tour was to be 3.5 hours, we were still at Dim Sum after 4.5 hours having a blast. This is impressive considering that we all just met that morning. We foudn the diversity of the tour and the locations appealing and the ease and welcoming attitude fo the store owners refreshing. The latter left such an impact on us that we went back to two fo the stores to make purchses. We have also recommended this tour to all our local freinds, which is significnat, and we are also looking to do a larger group for the Norht End excursion. THe only downside to the tour and it had little to do with Jim, but one of the stores he recommended us to go to for a Dim SUm guide was not that hospitable. They actually had a bit of an attitude and suggested that the tour guide not continue ot recommed sending people there, becaus ethey have not carried the Dim SUm book for awhile. We will get the book from Amazon, but the store employees, should rercognize the business that Jim is affording them adn try to adjust the behavior. Overall: This wasa great date surprise! Thank you Jim!

A wonderful experience

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Boston over Memorial Day 2009, and this tour was one of the hits of our trip. Our guide, Jim, was charming, eloquent, funny, and most importantly, both knowledgeable and exceptionally well prepared. He interacted well with the 4 quite disparate couples in our group, and with each of the shopkeepers we visited. Without the tour, we would probably have avoided this part of Boston altogether, but armed with the knowledge Jim gave us we enjoyed some wonderful meals there. Highly recommended!

Fun outing with friends

With perfect weather & an exceptional guide of the North End, our day was really fun. Michele Topor gave a enthusiastic & informative tour full of tips & samples of regional food at several markets. Having traveled extensively to Italy & now living in the heart of the North End, Michele was right at home in the neighborhood & was able to answer all our questions. Each of us was given several pages of information regarding favorite markets, specialties & directions to each. Also the same for restaurants. At the end of the tour which is contained in just a few blocks, we were able to backtrack to purchase items of interest that were presented during the tour. We ended the day, sitting in an open air restaurant sipping wine & discussing what a great day we had. We are now planning a trip in the fall for a tour of Chinatown. I hope this was helpful to you.
