What a great day! Learned about the history of the North End and how Italian American came to be. Not only experienced the stores and their goods but also gained insight to who owned the store and it's history. Well paced and Michele was fresh and passionate about sharing and teaching. Most enjoyable!

We toured with Michelle Topor, and found her to be extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The samples were wonderful, and we got a lot of great ideas on how to use the ingredients that we learned about. We can't wait to try the Chinatown tour.

Took my daughter for her birthday and we both had a wonderful time. Learned much about the North End and found it very interesting. The tastings were great and the shopkeepers delightful Our guide Beth was terrific. We went back to many of the shops after the tour and a yummy lunch in a suggeted restaurant.

It was a very fun and factual 3 hours around the North End. Our guide really "knew her stuff" and gave us lots of interesting info. We sampled at each stop and most of us made our way back to the bakery for treats to take home.

A Local Journey in Chinatown

Our party was coming from all direcrtions, but we had no trouble parking and finding the group. Jim was a terrrific tour guide; friendly, knowledgeable, and good at keeping the group together and on track. The food we sampled was excellent and dim sum was delicious. We were impressed with Jim's Chinese language skills! Lastly, the take-away information is a nice keepsake. I've already recommended the tour to several people.

This was my second Chinatown Tour with Jim, our friendly, knowledgeable tour guide. I enjoyed myself so much the first time that I decided to take the tour again and bring my sixteen year old nephew. My nephew really enjoyed learning the history of Chinatown as well as the sampling of food along the tour route. I would highly recommend this tour for teens and adults of all ages.

Great Experience!

The North End Market Tour with the Michele Topor group was GREAT! The tour guide was very informative both with the history of the North End and with the different types of Italian cuisine (Northern Italy, Southern Italy, Tuscany, etc.). During the tour we were able to sample items which certainly gave us incentive to go back and do some shopping. This way we were able to bring home some of the North End with us so we could share the experience with our families. Now that we’ve been exposed to the area, we’ll be back to enjoy it again and again. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

My daughter went to school in Boston so for 4 years I have wanted to go but we never were there on the right day. So this year when we went for graduation we came a day early and we weren't disappointed. I would highly recommend it.

A Boston Must: Michele Topor's North End Culinary
Wed, May 13, 09   2:00 PM mwhutch Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This was the best part of our 8-day stay in Boston. Jim was so knowledgable on the history of the area, the foods, spices and beverages. Our only wish was that we had taken a notebook with us to take notes on some of the products we sampled on the tour. We went back the next day to a number of the shops that were on the tour and bought the fixings for a fine picnic feast which we enjoyed at the nearby Christopher Columbus Park. We've recommended this to everyone we've met.

We enjoyed our guides wealth of info on the history of the area, its residents and the wonderful food. The only thing that would have improved our tour is more places with a little more space and more tastings. The tastings in the bakery were wonderful and seeing the owner and her mom delightful. It was as if time had stopped with so much tradition. The veg stand would have been nice to walk into just to see. I learned something new about eggplant !!!! Would have been nice to taste a few of the wines and for the owner to pop over with some info. The spice and grain store was delightfully old fashioned and I know better than to ever taste a dried chickpea again. Alot like eating salted sand. A bottle of water or a place to purchase one would have been nice. With all that said I would sign up to go again and was sorry to hear the tour of China town was full. We went back to the area for dinner at Monica's and was fab. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go back to shop. Thanks again to our tour guide , he was a delight!!!!!

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much about the area and were surprised when the time was up. The tour was extremely interesting and we got handouts because he knew we would want to be able to go back later and stock up. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in the area who likes to know more about food and some history. Many tastes were provided to make you want to stay at each place. Each place we stopped had very friendly staff. We went back to each place in the following days and received special treatment everywhere. We saw other tours stop and listen to ours. Pay a little more and get the best. Don't settle for the cheap imitation!
