Our leader was well prepared, a wealth of information, quite knowledgable and very enthusiastic. We loved the places we visited and the food samples we tried. The Dim Sum luncheon was most enjoyable. We would highly recommend this tour to others. It was well worth the price.

This is a terrific tour with a very knowledgeable guide. The lunch at the end was wonderful and great fun.

My recommendation would be to do this as soon as you arrive in Boston so you have time to revisit the markets as well as eat at some of the restaurants. We went to Monica's for dinner that night and would have gone back the following day had we not been leaving. Meal was fabulous.

I took this tour a few years ago and came away with a knowledge of the cuisine and markets that inspired me to explore the area more and learn more about Italian cooking. ( I now send my husband off to shop for me there when he is on business trips to Boston. ) I recently took the tour again and found Jim to be just as informative and enthusiastic as before, while giving the feeling that he is connecting you to the community, rather than just giving a tour.

We spent an unforgettable three hours with Michele Topor touring Boston's North End. Having lived in the North End for more than 40 years, Michele knew the neighborhood perfectly. Plus, she shared her cooking expertise with us whether it be the type of pasta to use or the brand of balsamic vinegar we should look for. We stopped at 5 or 6 shops so that she could show us what she was talking about. And, the samples we were able to taste were perfect. We highly recommend this tour not just to visitors to Boston but also, like us, people who have lived in Boston their whole lives and not seen this unique neighborhood up close and personal.

My husband and I were given this tour as a gift and really didn't know what to expect. We had a fabulous time! Our guide was Michele and she was extremely knowledgeable, interesting and entertaining. The tour was mulit-faceted as it included history and culture of both Italy itself and of the North End as well as valuable food/cooking information relating to both. I could go on and on but, suffice to say, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. I might add that we are local to the area and had never toured the North End---couldn't have picked a better way to do it. Thank you Michele for a wonderful experience!

Had a good time, the tour was informative both history-wise and food-wise. There are definitely a couple places on the tour that I will go back to. I did feel like we were unwanted at a couple of the stops and the group was a little too big to actually fit into some places as well. It made it a little difficult to look around and/or to buy anything while on the tour.

Gave so many reasons to come back to the North End and live it up authentic-style!

Jim was a good guide. Learned a lot, enjoyed exploring shops off the beaten path, and got to taste some interesting foods!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 hour tour. We happened to be the only 4 signed up at this particular time so we had a very individualized experience. Our guide spent time talking to us about Italy so we would better understand the influences of northern or southern cuisine. We learned so much about the various shops in the North End. The ones we visited were fabulous. We sampled something at each one. Delicious!!! We would take this tour again.

My sisters and I took this tour in February and we loved it. I recommended it to friends that have lived in Italy and on Saturday my husband and I went on the tour with them. We all loved it --the markets visited have an excellent selection , our guide loves to cook and that came across in her selections to snack on, the shop keepers enjoyed sharing their food. I would go a third time as each time something new is learned.

It was a very educational tour of the area in present and past times. Beth's opening of each stop was very interesting.
