Wonderful (as usual)

This is my third Michelle Topor tour. I have been on 2 North End and 1 Chinatown. The North End tour was so great, I recommended it to our New York family and they weren't disappointed. I have had Jim twice and this time it was Michelle. They both were fantastic, bringing their own touch to the tour. Maybe next time I will take the New Yorkers on the Chinatown tour as well.

Great spots you may not find on your own

We were given a rich history of the North End as it once was and how it is today. Such colorful descriptions of who had been residents in the olden days and what has changed. We were taken into 7 stores which varied in the food, the decor, the offerings, the history. What was the same was the high quality of their merchandise, their service that they give to each customer, the authentic Italian feel. We were a group of 12 and all of us were delighted at the variety of samples given to us throughout the tour. Each item was described accurately and we were told what differentiates these items. Our taste buds were having their own party. Our tour guide, Beth, was an encyclopedia for the North End and her enthusiasm for being here was contagious. We are very happy that we now know some of the hidden gems within the North End. I would recommend this tour without any hesitations.

Our tour guide, Dick, was very knowledgeable and really gave us the feeling we were privy to a world many cannot experience from the outside. I am in the hospitality trade, I found it informative and lots of fun! Loved the historic references and some of the legends and lore that was provided. I have lived in Boston all my life, and have never the North End quite this way before. I highly recommend it!

I live locally and this was my 3rd time going on the tour. Each time, I've gone with friends and everyone has had a wonderful time. We all learned a lot, discovered new places in the North End that are off the usual tourist track, and sampled a variety of delicious foods along the way. We also learned a lot about the history of Boston and the various immigrant migrations. Our guide was very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. This is well above the usual tour experience. I highly recommend it.

The guide did exactly what he said he hoped to achieve; I'll go to Chinatown more and not feel totally intimidated. Also, it was great to get to snack along the way!

Planning a "Family" tour for next Spring
Sat, Oct 30, 10   10:00 AM cschilling Female 70+ Local Other
This tour was a birthday gift from my daughter and the best birthday present I ever received. My husband and I enjoyed the tour so much that we are arranging a "family" get-together in the Spring with relatives from Pennsylvania to do the tour. Every place we visited on the tour was exceptional. Our tour guide, Beth, was so knowledgeable about each market and explained many new items to us. The samples at each market place lets you experience the taste of each item Beth told us about. I was concerned about getting tired but I didn't and couldn't wait to get to the next market to learn more. My husband and I have been to the North End many times but never "saw" it like this and can't wait to go back and do it again. I can't really explain how great it was, so just go and see for yourself. Charlotte Schilling, Topsfield, MA

Great way to get insider info on the best food/liquor stores and restaurants in the North end. As a local, I found over 100+ restaurants to choose from overwhelming. Now I know the best places to take out of town guests. We've been on many walking tours and found this one of the best.

It was one of those delightful days that took us by surprise. We were immediately drawn into the tour by the sights and inviting garlic flavor wafting in the air. Our guide was very knowledgeable about both the history and the businesses of the North End. He made it fun and interesting. We had just enough of a taste to make us look forward to going back again and again. I felt like I was on vacation. Thank you!

Several of us decided to do this as an activity to get together and have fun. We certainly did. Our guide, Dick, was knowledgeable, personable and entertaining. He was quite receptive to questions and took the time to answer everyones in a very hospitable way. I would recommend this to anyone.

We had four people, three of whom were Italian. They shared their family traditions as well and that added depth to the experience. My husband and I live in NH and are transplants to the area. We needed to know where to find Italian supplies. Thank you. It was fun and informative.

Excellent Tour

My husband and I were given this tour as a gift. It was a very entertaining three hours filled with informative history and delicious snacks. Our guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and a bit snarky! It is a full three hours of standing and walking and there is seating at only 2 of 6 stops. I only make people aware of this because I know my parents would love this tour but my father could never handle the physical aspect of it.
