I bought these tickets for my husband for his birthday. We go into the north end quite a bit and I thought we may learn something new. I can't believe how much we learned in 3 hours. Our guide, Beth, was awesome. She is extremely knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. We loved the trip into the Salumeria and the wine store also. Of course, we loved the stop at Maria's. We plan from now on when we come in for dinner, to do a little shopping first. We had a great time and will definitely be recommending it!

The North End Tour was spectacular! I have been a Bostonian my whole life and have been to the North End THOUSANDS of times, but never quite like this. It was so nice to take time and learn more about the culture and stop in at beautiful little stores that you are normally too busy to look in and see all the wonderful treats. Our tour guide was so impressive! She knew EVERYTHING and after spending 3 hours with someone you would think you would be tired of listening but she made it soooo interesting and had such a wealth of knowledge...she was a joy to spend the afternoon with. Time flew by......I have recommended it to so many of my friends. Please take advantage of such a great tour.........then enjoy a nice dinner and a glass of wine when you are done.

The market tour was a 50th birthday gift for a dear friend of mine. We absolutely loved it! Our tour guide was informative, funny and new how to pace the tour for our total enjoyment. We'll probably do it again with our husbands! Thanks again for such a wonderful introduction to the North End!

Our guide, Beth, was exceptionally knowledgable on the area, history, and was clearly a 'foodie,' which made her comments that much more meaningful. Highly recommend the tour. 10 out of 10.

I'm not a stranger to Boston's Chinatown, but I still learned a lot and had a very enjoyable time. I highly recommend this tour.

Intimidated by Chinatown no more

Strongly recommend. Our tour guide Jim was as friendly and easygoing as he was informative. There was the right balance of history, culture, food, and culinary knowledge shared and the information made you appreciate each category more. My wife and I definitely developed a keener appreciation for Boston's Chinatown, but more importantly, a comfort level and a desire to take our exploration further on our own.

We just recently moved from Europe to Boston. So getting to know the city with its different neighbourhods was a great experience. Besides we got some great ideas for buying our fresh pasta and real italian pastry.

Delightful Tour

This is our third summer sojourn to the North End and the first time taking this delightful tour. Although we had been frequenting some of the establishments on the tour during our stays in Boston, it was enlightening to hear about them in more detail. We were glad to learn about new items and meet the proprieters. Dick, our tour guide, was "a fountain" of local knowledge and presented it in an entertaining and interesting manner. We highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful Tour-- and the Teens Loved It
Fri, Aug 15, 08   10:00 AM pkobor Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I came on the tour with three teenagers (one of mine and two of her friends), and while I knew I would enjoy it, I was a little worried the kids would be less enthusiastic. But they really enjoyed hearing about the history of the neighborhood, how the immigrants' diets changed over time, and how the foods they enjoy are made -- pastry, cheese, olive oil, balsamic vinegar ( what we buy at the grocery store usually ISN'T the real thing.) Jim, our chef/tour guide, was informative and witty and displayed a real affection for this unusual neighborhood and the markets, shops and restaurants that have kept it so authentic. If you come with kids, be prepared that one of the 'tastes' you get at the last stop is a liqueur. I felt okay about allowing the kids I was with to try it, but it might not be appropriate for all kids. Note: allow some time after the tour to go back and shop at the places where you tasted the wares, or to eat a good Italian or Italian-American meal.

The tour was a gift from our daughter when we moved into Boston. My husband and I will now be able to venture fearlessly into Chinatown and know where to go and what to order. And we'll take friends with us!

We had a wonderful time on this tour of the North End. Our daughter had a brief trip home from college so we decided to spend time doing this. The information was interesting, the sights were lovely and the samples of food delicious! Michele went out of her way to make this tour fun and special for us. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
