Wonderful! North End Market Tour

Jim was a wonderful tour guide. We learned so much about the history of the North End, as well as the culinary history of Italian cooking and eating. We thoroughly enjoyed all the "tastes" along the way, and then returned to several stores to shop before enjoying Jim's recommendation of Carmen's for dinner. Raymond has a wealth of knowledge that he imparts with confidence and ease. He answered so many questions with grace and accuracy. He knows the history,language, people,food, wine and combinations of the same. He wanted you to know what he knew and enjoyed telling you. Both my husband and myself learned so very much and enjoyed it while doing so. We went back to the same stores and ordered different foods after the tour was over. A group of young women were also on the tour and were still talking about it while at supper and later when we all had drinks. A great group of people. I plan on going to a few more of these tours. Without reservation, I recommend this tour to locals and tourists alike. I was so impressed.

everyone had a great time, living so close to Boston we all learned many things and plan on returning to several of the recommended stops. It was truely an enjoyable experience and would do it again!!

I've lived in the Boston area for 30 years and had been to the North End many times, but Jim opened a world to me I had never known. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the sights and Jim's knowledge and insights made the experience very worthwhile. I loved every stop and enjoyed the tastings. I'm anxious to go back on my own and explore some more. Thanks very much!

My boyfriend and I took the North End tour with Jim and we had such a wonderful time! It was interesting to learn about the North End and Jim's expertise with food was phenomenal! He was an amazing group leader and bursting with interesting information and antidotes! Each stop on the tour was excellent and I learned so much about Italian culture, cuisine and digestion :) I was also very intrigued to learn about the “fake” items sold in grocery stores (balsamic vinegar, cinnamon, etc.) and am excited that I now know how to purchase olive oil and other yummy Italian staples! THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL TIME!

My husband and I were swept away for three hours to experience the history and culture of Boston's Little Italy. The sights, smells and tastes transported us back to our childhood years growing up in an Italian household. Michele was extremely knowledgeable and a very gracious guide. The citizens of Little Italy just made it extra special!

Having lived in the Boston area my entire life, and visiting the North End growing up, I have wonderful memories of the North End. Over the years many shops have changed owners or closed, so I wanted to rediscover familiar spots, discover new places, and ask questions about the neighborhood. Michele was a terrific tour guide, providing me with great information about the shops, people and neghborhood of the North End. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

My sister and I went on the Northend tour. I am a dyed in the wool foodie- and she is not. We both enjoyed it immensely! Michele's enthusiasm for both the neighborhood and it's people was so engaging that everyone would learn from her and enjoy doing it. The opportunity of learning about the Chinese culture and touring Chinatown was a very worthwhile experience. This Market Tour was entertaining and our guide was very informative. Lunch was included and I learned a lot about Dim Sum. This tour was worth the price.
