| This tour was very informative and a joy to attend. The guide was professional in his delivery and displayed an in-depth knowledge of the area, stores, products, and Italian way of living in general. He was very approachable and answered any questions the best he could. I enjoyed being able to meet the owners of the stores we visited, it really gave you the feeling that you were in Italy. Thank you for such an enjoyable afternoon. I have recommended it to people already. | ||||||

| We are a family of 4- 2 parents,23 yr. old daughter and 21 yr. old son. My husband and I had taken the tour a couple of years ago- when our son started college here. Our daughter just got an apt. in the No. End-- so we thought it would be fun for both of them to have the "tour" too. As soon as our son arrived he told us that he would probably only stay for a short while.(remember this!). The tour is just wonderful-- full of historical and present day information. The stores we visited were great- esp. the salumeria and the pastry store. Loved getting little treats along the way. We really felt the "pulse" of the neighborhood- and a part of this unique village within the city. Michelle was terrific- patient, informative and we really understood her love of the No.End and of Italy- esp. Sicily. If I HAD to find something that could be improved-- I would put in 1 other short "sitting" stop along the tour-- other than that- We came home and recommended the tour to all our neighbors. Great job! Of note-- our 21 yr. old son who intended to leave right away- happily stayed until it ended !! :) | ||||||

| Our guide was great-shared his knowledge of the North End, not only the food and wine part, but the history of the area and how it has evolved. We loved the tour and would recommend it to everyone old enough to enjoy it. | ||||||

| Learn quite a lot more food tips and history than actual tasting. Definitely need to eat before and after the tour. Bring your own water and hand sanitizer. | ||||||

| This tour was everything we were hoping it would be! We got a great overview of the North End, some great places we went back to during our stay in Boston, and an inside look at the various regions in Italy, and their unique characteristics in relation to food and ingredients used in cooking. We sampled some wonderful pastries, the best balsamic vinegar we've ever had, a wonderfully refreshing Italian Ice, and the list goes on...We enjoyed this tour so much, we would probably go on it again when we return in 3 years! | ||||||

| The Boston North End tour was interesting, educational and entertaining. We saw and learned things that we would never have been able to discover on our own. It's a must-do for all locals - especially anyone just moving to the area. | ||||||

| This was a great way to revisit the Boston North End and the indigenous cuisine. I was accompanied by my two adult daughters while on a baseball related trip. (This was their first visit to Boston, and this tour was a great way to spend their first day) The tour guide, an ex-chef in the area, was extremely well informed about the culture and history of the region and the food resources available. His personal acquaintance with the management/owners and their staff gave a real authenticity to his presentation at the many stops on the tour. The samples of products was very well presented and the quality was very good. We were required to re-visit Maria's bakery to gather a small colllection of goodies before we left town. . We were only able to visit two of the restaurants on the recommended list but they were both very good, and as described. We will be better prepared to enjoy the speciality cuisine of the various regions of Italy on our next visit. We also learned how to sex an eggplant! | ||||||

| We really enjoyed the tour. It was a great way to see The North End,get a feel for the people that have lived and live there now. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and made the tour fun and interesting. We were a varied group and all age groups seemed to enjoy the content and flow of the stops along our morning tour. Tips on where to eat lunch were welcome too. All in all a great day in Boston! | ||||||

| For anyone wanting an introduction to the cultural histrory of the N orth End, with a slant toward the culinary traditions, this is a very enjoyable tour. Jim , our guide , showed genuine appreciation for the italian and Italian American traditions that have made the North End a cultural treasure of America's immigrant history. I enjoyed learning about authentic traditions and adaptations that have become iconid Italian American standards. While the tour indulges in culinary pleasures, the history and culture of Italian Americans was woven into each stop along the tour. Add to that cooking tips and the "insiders guide" to the North End, and you've got a winning tour. Thanki you Jim for sharing your expertise and personal experiences and preferences-- and Thank you for not cancelling the tour even though our "group" was smalll enough to become a private tour. It was a wonder ful morning. | ||||||

| My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our North End Market Tour. Our guide, Jim, was knowledgeable, engaging, and an excellent speaker. The selection of markets was perfect, and we returned to many of them afterward to purchase items that intrigued us. The three hours passed in the blink of an eye, leaving us feeling like we had taken a mini-vacation in Italy. I will definitely recommend this tour to friends and plan on including it when we entertain visitors to the Boston area. | ||||||
