One Delight After Another North End Market Tour |

| Jim led our group on a North End Market Tour on a weekday afternoon. We are Boston residents of several years and we have been in the North End quite a few times -- yet Jim introduced us to delightful shops we weren't aware of, one after another. His credentials for leading the tour were impeccable. We loved that he could give us quick recipe ideas and tips for the food products we were unfamiliar with and that he also knew the history of the area and could expand on how certain customs and food preferences have changed over time. An educational, fun, and useful tour! We have already gone back to the North End and bought a couple of hundred dollars worth of wonderful products based on what we learned on this tour. | ||||||

| Your tour was recommended by a friend of mine (both of us live in MD). I also brought with me some new acquaintances from Turkey. I can speak for all by saying we had a fantastic time with Jim (our tour guide). One shortfall - when serving the meat sampler, you didn't have anything for folks that can't eat pork (Muslim). I felt you should have been able to substitute something else fairly easily. | ||||||

| Jim did a fantastic job at all of the businesses. We learned a lot of information about the history of the North End and a lot of information about cooking and ingredients. The samples were also lovely. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to visitors to Boston. Even my 11 month old son enjoyed it! | ||||||

| Our very knowledgeable tour leader made it easy for us to understand a lot about the history and culture of the Italians in the North End. Interesting details about how this group's food changed in America made the tour enjoyable and informative. The tastings added another dimension. Each stop along the tour was very worthwhile. | ||||||

| JUST MOVED TO BOSTON AND WANTED TO EXPLORE THE NORTH END, THAT IS, FIND THE BEST PLACES THAT THE LOCALS KNOW AND HAVE AN OVERVIEW OF THE AREA. YOUR TOUR AND EXCELLENT GUIDE (JIM) ACCOMPLISHED THAT. THE REALLY ENJOYABLE BONUS WAS JIM'S BACKGROUND AS A CHEF AND HIS COMMAND OF ITALIAN MADE EVERYTHING MORE "UP FRONT AND PERSONAL." | The tour was great. When they say to wear comfortable shoes, they aren't kidding. My friends and I were really glad we went and the guide was great, but we were surprised there wasn't more food. My tour was from 11 am to 2 pm and I should have brought a snack or something, because I was starving by the time it was over. I would do it again! | ||||||

| I enjoyed the tour but it was rather pricy for what we got. The tastings were tiny. As an experienced cook, there wasn't much they told me that I didn't already know. We were running into other groups on the street. I have to wonder how much profit the tour operator was making on us at almost $50 a head. Still, the guide was very knowledgeable and personable. I would recommend it for people who do not know much about Italian food/cooking and need a real basic 101 course. | ||||||

| Beth was very knowledgeable and added interesting side bars. The shops were all interesting and different. It was very informative even comimg from a first generation Italian family I learned many things and was remined of things my grandmother cooked and talked about when I was a child. There were seven of us who took the tour together and all of us had our expectations exceded. I will be buying tour for family members for Christmas.Linda Carmichael | ||||||

| First of all, our tour guide, Jim, was the BEST! He was incredibly knowledgable not only about the North End of Boston, but all of Italy as well. We all learned so much on this tour and I've been on the tour before. We will all go again because it was that good! Three hours flew by....we just couldn't get enough. And then Jim was kind enough to recommend a restaurant in the North End that was absolutely perfect. What a wonderful ending to a glorious day! After telling my co-workers about our awesome adventure, I found myself printing copies about the market tour to give to all of them (about 20 women and 1 very interested male chief-wanna-be) because they all want to go. And, of course, I'll be right there with them once again. Michele Topor has a winner with this tour. Hopefully she will always strive to keep it interesting, engaging, fabulous and fun. | My husband and I relish Italian food. So for us, this tour was fascinating and filled with interesting information we could not have gotten any other way. We enjoyed the taste testing and all of the helpful tips for storing and cooking the foods we learned about. Participants on this tour must be prepared to not only walk but stand for 3 hours. (without a restroom break) All of the people in our group were late 50s and older, so I thought we all did very well. I would like to have had a map of all the stores we visited with their locations and names. I also would have liked to have been able to purchase (or have included) an audio tape of the tour so we could go back and listen to the information again. Considering the price we paid for this tour, that would definitely have been a welcome addition and selling point for the tour. We both will talk about this tour for a long time to come and will highly recommend it to our friends who plan to visit Boston. | ||||||

| My husband and I spent an enjoyable Friday afternoon on the North End Tour. We both enjoyed our tour guide and his interesting and useful comments and information. We are visitors to the North End for dinner on a frequent basis, but have never enjoyed our visit as much as we did that day. We visited vendors and sampled foods that were both delicious and interesting. We plan to return to purchase items at the shops to which we were introduced. We would highly recommend this tour to all. | ||||||

| This was the best 3 hours spent. We did the New York walking tour before and this was so much better. So much to learn, our guide Jim was so good with history of the place, food and shopping tips... I recommend this tour to all who likes to cook and learn about food... a must. | ||||||
