Really enjoyed the whole tour and the guide. The guide Jim was so informative, had a great knowledge of the history of Italy and told my husband and myself so much information that I did not know about Italy, Italian Food, about their culture. Visited places that I had in the past just walked by and when we entered and found out the history of the people and the store or shop, really made us want to come back. We wanted to buy something in each place we visited. Highly suggest everyone try this wonderful tour. Loved it!!!! Told all my friends and family about it and even posted on facebook!! |

My husband and I have lived in this area for awhile. I even lived in the north end when I was single. We've eaten in and visited the north end countless times. Visiting with a tour guide as knowledgeable and personable as Jim was a great surprise. We learned a lot and enjoyed the afternoon immensely. Jim's knowledge of Italian cuisine provided us with wonderful tips and highlights.
The only suggestion is that the tour provide a bottled water and though it is difficult a bathroom stop.... |

The tour started with a lecture on the history of Chinese immigrants and went on from there. Our tour guide Jim
is so knowledgable and presents the facts with so much enthusiasm. From the bbq, to the bakeries to the pharmacy of chinese remedies were terrific. The super market was a highlight. Ending with a dim sum luncheon
was perfect. It is so different from the chinese food we usually get at takeouts. So delicious. The only disappointing item was the chicken feet. We wanted to try them and we did, but wouldn't do it again. Would definetly do a dim sum again, now that we know the protocol and equitette. Thanks Jim, it was well worth the trip to Boston. |

Guide talked to much about himself. Would have liked more history about the area. Have been on Food tours in NY which are much better in terms of food offerings and local information. |

Our guide, Jim Becker, was superb. I wasn't a particular China afficionado, but he certainly is--and now I could be, too. His knowledgeable talks on food, Chinese medicine, history of Chinatown and the Chinese in America, and the local customs were fascinating. I could take the tour ten times and still learn something. I particularly appreciated Jim's navigation of the dim sum puzzle. Reassuring and delicious! |

Our guide, Jim, was very knowledgable. The tour was just the right pace and length of time. I have been to China Town many times on my own, but this helped me to learn about the history of the area, and to find some new places to go back to. I particularly liked the fact that our guide gave us a written list of the places we visited, as well as others he recommends. |

Our family had an excellent experience! Getting to sample traditional foods with such a knowledgable and friendly guide was great. We always wondered so much about the food, culture, and the district. Now we feel so informed. We were able to go back on our own and feel very comfortable. We love Asian food and now we know what's truly authentic. I can't praise this tour enough. It was our favorite event of the entire trip! |

friends recommended the tour but it was even better than said . We were in Boston for 4 days and it was cold and rainy but this really made it all worth while. I have already told several friends and co workers about what a great experience it was |

I enjoyed this tour which was very informative and showed me more of the North End that I had discovered on my own. I've been on other food tours in NY City which included more generous and more numerous tastings and where the shop owners were enthusiastic about the tour. The small size of the spaces made this difficult and some of the shop owners were not especially welcoming. Overall, this was a good experience but definitely not the best food tour I've been on. |

Tour was well paced, guide was enthusiastic & very informative. we learnt about the history of Chinatown, some basic geography of China & the different varieties of food,
We toured and tried samples at 2 Chinese bakeries, a bbq shop, a Chinese herbalist and visited a large Chinese supermarket where different ingredients and their uses were explained to us.
The culmination of the tour was a fabulous dim sum lunch, where our guide chose a variety of different dishes and explained them to us. She even gave us a gift of Chinese sweets for dessert!
Definitely recommended! |

This was one of the best afternoons! Spending this time with Michele (how lucky were we?) and five great women, sharing the scents, aromas, interesting stories, tips, and laughs was truly such an experiance. I will be enjoying this tour again. And... would love to be part of the China Town tour. Michele is a fabulous guide! Thank you. |

We really enjoyed our North End Market Tour - and I should mention that even my cynical, world-weary, 22 year-old daughter (who thinks her parents are something of an embarrassment) actually commented that she thought we had made a very good decision in booking this tour!
I would warmly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in in history, geography and/or food, who has a few hours to spare in Boston. |
