Jim was a fantastic tour guide! My brother and I enjoyed the tour so much and we learned more than we ever expected to about Chinese food and culture! I now feel confident finding my way around Chinatown to eat and shop. Thank you Jim, for sharing your knowledge with us! You were a warm and welcoming host who made everyone feel like honored guests on the tour! |

I booked this tour with my husband and 3 children in their 20's. We are Italian but the other reviews said it would be interesting and we would see and learn about new things. True we did learn a few new things. But the tour was soooo slow and much too dragged out! We spent 45 min in a pastry shop discussing every pastry. My kids were very bored and almost fell asleep. I do want to say our guide was very nice. It's just that the tour was about 1.5 hours too long. Sorry but don't waste your money. Just go to the stores yourself. It would be more fun. |

Great tour, and Jim was a great guide all around. We've eaten in Chinatown many times but learned all sorts of interesting stuff. We'll definitely do his North End tour sometime. |

This was a nice tour -- informative regarding both food and the North End. I especially appreciated the handouts of recommended shops & restaurants, and returned to Boston the following week to explore. |

We had been to Boston a few times before but this was the first time we took this tour. Myself, my husband and my teenage daughter enjoyed the tour, the information and tasting the samples. We all recommend this tour. |

This was a wonderful tour of the North End. Our guide was pleasant and extremely well informed. We learned a lot about the history of the North End, as well as the cooking techniques in northern, central, and southern Italy. Our tastings were delicious! Well worth going to.

We felt most fortunate to have Michele herself as our guide for our Saturday 1 PM tour (though I'm sure all of her staff are equally engaging, informative, and entertaining). Her first-hand knowledge of the area, Italian culture, culinary heritage, dietary and health benefits of particular foods & preparation methods, and overall history / dynamics of the North End are shared with true passion and energy - an affection also shown by many of the small shop-keepers and their families who we encountered on the tour. The pace is relaxed & the small group size (10) encourages more personal interaction. A diverse sampling of spices and foods from several establishments further enhance the experience. Highly recommended. |

We toured Little Italy with a small group of 5 people which made the experience quite enjoyable. Our tour group guide was very informative and knowledgeable of the area and the specific businesses we toured. The tour covered a variety of Mom and Pop stores and the sample treats were plentiful and quite good. We use quite a bit of Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar in our daily menus and we learned about the various qualities and labeling to look for when purchasing these items. We will now seek to purchase the high quality products, since we know what to look for on the labels. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a serious Italian cuisine lover. It proved valuable to not only locals, but to anyone who has an interest in Italian cuisine. Do not expect to have a full course meal, but you should be quite satisfied with the samples. |

Jim, our tour guide, provided a wealth of information, along with a great sense of humor. I absolutely loved visiting the supermarket and learning about the variety of Asian veggies and how to cook them. The herbalist shop was wonderful and Jim shared his knowledge about different products and their uses. I enjoyed visiting the two bakeries for a taste of traditional and not so traditional pastries and loved trying the bubble tea. Listening to Jim describe the history of Boston's Chinatown and the hardships the folks had to endure was a great lesson. The dim sum luncheon was nice. After the tour was over, we went back to the herbal shop. All in all, lots of fun. I did the North End tour in the past and go back to my favorite places at least three or four times a year. I plan to do the same with Chinatown now that I feel more comfortable. Thanks, Jim! |

Very! informative and enjoyable on several different levels from a well-presented interesting history of the area, introduction to some fascinating and very authentic Italian neighborhood food and wine shops we would never have discovered on our own as well as having several chances to sample and be introduced to a myriad selection of interesting culinary tastes and places in the North End. Do not have to be a food expert to enjoy---really something for everyone to learn and appreciate. Time goes by very quickly. Can't recommend it enough!! |
