All knew we were off season, but all efforts were made to accomodae us and try their hardest to be sure we saw whatever was out there. We were all very pleased.

Did not see whales, however, received a raincheck

We were proveded full disclosure before purchasing the tickets (online), as well as in person at check in that there is never a gaurantee that we would see whales. After all, it is nature, and cannot be predicted. Although I was sad that we did not see whales or dolphin, I was pleasantly surprised when we were offered a rain check -without expiration - to come back again. We did get to see plenty of sea lions and a few otters, so I cannot say I was completely disappinted and will be sure to come back to use the raincheck.

we could not understand a word the naturalist was saying while the boat motor was on - only when the boat stopped to look at something were we able to hear him speaking - no whales that day :-(

Fun but cold :)

Our original trip was canceled so we had to change it to a Saturday. It was nice because our boat was not nearly as full as the others around. We didn't see anything until the very end of the trip and they stayed out longer than we were suppose to just so we could get a glimpse of a Blue Whale. It was great to see the whale however we were over an hour late getting back so missed the next part of our Monterey Trip. It was fun and something to keep in mind. Just make sure you bring your winter coat and hat :)

No whales but that's OK

We didn't see any whales on our trip because a few days earlier, a pod of killer whales came thru and scared all the other whales off. We were given replacement tickets free of charge. The narrator for our trip was very informative and super enthusiastic about her job. We have been out on this boat before and did see whales and it was a good experience also.

Although we saw the humpback whale only from rather far away, we really enjoyed the tour.

This was a really fun trip. We saw several dolphins, lots of seals, a few otters, and a humpback whale with her baby. We were also able to see several types of jellyfish in the ocean, which was a surprise. We were a bit disappointed that we didn't see more whales, dophins, etc, but overall, it was a good experience. The marine biologist was wonderful and knowledgeable and definitely added to the experience with her knowledge and humor. I would go again! Dress warm.....it does get cold on the ocean.

I fainted while on the cruise, and a member of the staff stayed with me for the duration, making sure I was ok, which I was. My two grandchildren were taken up to the top with the naturalist so that they wouldn't focus on their grandma. Their experience was worth more than money can buy. Bravo!

Fun activity but watch out for choppy waters!

Great, professional, knowledgeable employees/guides at the Princess Monterey Whale Watch company! The waters were VERY choppy the morning we went (we went at 10am on the larger of the two boats). My daughter and I got seasick even though we took dramamine. Of course, this is no fault of the captain (he was a great at steering the boat!). Great activity for first time whale watchers but I would highly caution that you will most likely get seasick (my husband fishes on a semi-regular basis and even he got a bit queasy!). This is my last whale watching trip (my middle-aged stomach cannot take it anymore!).

Fun Adventure

We did, indeed, see whales. A Humpback mom and baby. And numerous seabirds, sea lions, seals, and sea otters. Our guide was knowledgeable and extremely enthusiastic about marine life. The boat's pilot did a great job of negotiating the swells with as little roller coaster motion as possible, so hardly anyone looked to be seasick. Everyone in our party had a great time.

Great chance to see whales & learn about them
Sun, Aug 28, 11   12:00 PM kenstuder Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This was something I always wanted to do and it turned out to be perfect chance to be out on the water and see humpback whales in their own environment doing what whales naturally do. The boat captain and nature guide did a very good job of maintaining the boat in a good position to see the whales, tell us about them but not disturb them. My husband and I enjoyed this trip very much.

The folks at Princess were the friendliest and most helpfull ever. They visited with all the passengers making sure everyone was comfortable and secure. Gave a talk before we entered the boat about safety and what not to do. Very responsible and caring group. We will be going back.
