The whale watching was great. Our guide was very well informed. We were a bit dissappointed that we had gotten our tickets a month in advance for the longer trip on the Pacific Explorer, only to learn that morning that we were going to be on the shorter trip because of scheduling conflicts. We traveled from Pennsylvania to watch the whales. We would recommend it to anyone, we had an enjoyable time.

This was an awesome trip! We arrived early and they let us take an earlier boat, which was convenient. We saw tons of whales, dolphins, sea lions, and seals. It was fantastic!!!

Very enjoyable trip where we saw lots of whales. Captain was very good but it was a pity that the naturalist was not available for our trip.

I have lived in California all my life and made many trips to the coast, 3 hours away. But never had I been on a whale watching boat. It was something I always wanted to do. So we finally got around to it. It was great!! We saw about 10 whales and 12 dolphins. It was allot of fun.

no broken promises! we saw dolphines and whales close up for almost the whole trip. the captain was very competent and manouvered us perfectly to watch these beautiful animals and gave us the chance to take a lot of very nice pictures. the crew was also very competent and provided a lot of valuable sideinformation to the group - they answered all kinds of questions. this trip was worth every penny. don't think - BOOK !!

I had booked a 10:00 a.m. whale watching tour with my son. I was afraid to go out on the ocean so I called them and they said I could take any whale watching trip that day or receive a voucher for another time. I went to the wharf and talked to the people there and they were great - they relaxed me and I am very glad I did go on the 3 p.m. tour. We found humpback whales within 35 minutes of leaving the harbour! The people on board were extremely enthusiastic and excited to show us the whales. We saw a humpback whale and her baby and the crew spent quite a bit of time around them and we followed at the proper safe distance. We also saw dolphins, sea lions leaping out of the ocean, cormorants, pelicans & sea otters. It was fantastic and the boat was sturdy so the swells or waves did not cause any sea sickness. All people on the boat were fine and now have happy memories of that day.

I would recommend your tour. You had a nice sized boat and the woman that did the annoucing was knowledgeable and friendly. She even came on deck to talk to people one on one. I believe she mentioned she's a school teacher. We found California to be a beautiful state and we hope to one day return. We can't wait to get all our pictures developed! Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Appreciated the SMOOTH ride

I've been on other local boats quite a bit for whale watching, specifically Randy's, and I always got seasick even with medication. This boat had a SMOOTH ride and I did not get nauseated a bit. Took my Bonine just like I always have in the past, but on this boat I was just fine. I will definitely take this boat next time. Would have been nice to have the concession open more. It was cold and we were all dying for some hot chocolate, coffee or tea. But it was closed for most of the trip.

We went when the weather was cool. We did't see much in the way of whales. By the end of the trip, Danny the Captain did find us one whale and that was greatly appreciated.

We saw whales and dolphins like you probably would see from other charters, but what distinguished this one is their boat. I was on the 100ft boat and its motor was very smooth. Last time I went with a different charter and the motor was a constant vibration that made some people sick.

My sister has always wanted to see the Whales, for her birthday I decided to take her out, this was the first whale watching adventure for the both of us; we were a bit worried that we might get sick. The Princess Monterey was fantastic, Benji the owner was wonderful and very personable and welcoming. The ship was clean and ready to go, the staff were as well friendly and helpful. We seen lots of Dolphins and Whales, it was truly a great experience and we will defintely go again with this same ship line. Thank you so much to Benji and his entire staff for a wonderful time and experience, it was great.

One of the greatest activities taken during our 3 weeks tour through the west coast. Humpbacks as close as you can probably ever get.

I went whale watching on the Princess Monterey boat and had a blast! The crew was amazing, especially caring! I got sea sick (I knew I should have taken medicine) and someone from the crew asked if I was alright, and I said I was okay. He walked inside and came back out with ginger candies, and gave me advice on how to try to keep from getting sick. The ginger candies helped tremendiously. Even after getting sea sick I had so much fun that I tell everyone that they should go whale watching! We saw jellyfish, humpback whales, harbor seals, and Risso dolphins! The whales swam right under the boat on two occasions! There was also a biologist who was telling us about the whales, and dolphins, etc. I am definitely going to go again soon!

Wonderful Experience

We weren't sure of what to expect and prepared the kids as much as we could - plus telling them to pray that the whales approach us as we were well aware of the 100yards law. All of us took Dramamine to avoid the possibility of being seasick. However, the Dramamine did take effect on us - that we were a little drowsy either during the trip or after. Despite that, I do still recommend some motion sickness pills though as the sea becomes quite choppy as you leave the bay area. Plus, layers of warm clothings, glove, scarf, etc. We saw sea lions as we left and a little later on, Risso's Dolphins - about 40-50 of them. Shortly after that, we spotted the Humpback Whales - 2 of them. The great thing was, the Humpback whale approached our boat not once, but twice! We got to see the blow hole, nostrils, smell(!) and watch them really close. It was a wonderful experience and a treat! The biologist was very informative and even walked through the boat on our way back showing us pictures of what we saw and answering questions.
