| Disappointed not to see any whales. Felt we should have been warned that it was VERY rough and extremely cold. We were told to wrap up warm, which we did, but even so it was very, very cold, foggy and rough. However, we did see dolphins and it is the luck of the draw whether whales are spotted or not. | ||||||

| The narrator was ridiculously enthusiastic (what was she on?!), perhaps a little too much in getting us worked up for the excitement but failing to deliver. The majority of the 2.5 hrs was the boat just driving around into no where, it wasn't until almost two hours into it, we finally saw something besides a bird. There were a few dolphins but that was it, no whales. When we finally started seeing a few dolphins, the boat started heading back already. VERY very disappointing. This "whale watching" thing should be retitled "bird watching" or perhaps "dolphin watching" and be at least half the cost for that matter. I feel ripped off of my $40 and will probably not do this again nor recommend it with enthusiasm. I feel the business should refund the customers, at least partially if no whales are seen, because otherwise its just false advertisement! I didn't pay this much to be dragged around on this boat rampaging through the ocean while half the people on the boat was seasick in the back and worst of all, not even seeing any whales and just a handful of dolphins. | ||||||

| We had a great time. Didn't see any whales, but saw many dolphins. The boat ride itself was very enjoyable. The weather was cool, recommend hat or bini. | ||||||

| We went out at 10 a.m. on October 20th. When leaving the dock, we saw sea lions and dolphins further out. Captain Leon and A.J. were great. The boat was comfortable and Captain Leon was excellent and explaining things. He gave us updates throughout the morning and no whales had been spotted yet. Captain Leon took the boat approx 15 miles out and spotted a pod of 3 humpback whales. He stopped the boat so everyone could watch. The whales went underwater for about 10 minutes, then resurfaced right in front of the boat. It was awesome. I just happened to be standing right there. If I leaned over the railing and stuck my arm out, I would have been able to touch them they were that close. Captain Leon took extra time to find the whales for us and at that point, these were the only whales spotted so far that day. Highly recommend. Very nice people to greet you, free coffee and muffins before you leave the dock. Awesome experience. | ||||||

| The cruise was made quite enjoyable by Christine. Her narration kept things fun and informative. She had a great sense of humor, seemed quite knowledgeable and made the trip exciting. Unfortunately we only saw one whale, but the short time that we were able to observe the whale was fun. We saw porposises, dolphins, sea lions, pelicans and even an albatross. My biggest regret was that we could not stay out longer. | ||||||

| Dear all, This was a very high standard boat that had all facilities on it . The trip was fantastic . All though we did not get to see the whales . The captains relentless pursuite to find them for us was second to none. We were keep out on the water looking for an hour. This was and still is above and beond the call of dutie. We did see 7 different pods of dolphins. Which lets face it its not to bad as days go. When i go back i will be on the princess again riding up and down on her bow. There she blows me harties Thanks for all the searching James. | ||||||

| We only seen about 2 whales, but it was still really awesome to see. The best part was the dolphins that swam with us, there were hundreds of them!! It was also very cool to see the jellyfish swim beneath us as we traveled. It was a very neat experience! The lady speaking with extremely enthusiastic and the captain even had us out at sea for longer then the duration! There's a bathroom on the ship incase you get sick, and some snacks too! | ||||||

| The naturalist on board provided running commentary on the ocean life and was knowledgeable about more than whales. Because the orca whales were present, we did not see other whales species. That did not diminish the trip as we were privileged to see and to learn about many other forms of marine life including a leatherback turtle! | ||||||

| A very good trip out to see whales in October 2009. We saw blue whales, the captain spent a lot of time tracking the whales and we felt that we had good value for money on the trip. | ||||||

It's a big bay

| It was looking like we were in for a very quite boat ride when at the last moment before turning back someone spotted a blue whale blowing quite close to the boat. I just saw it's final dive and its "footprints" in the water, we hung around for a while but the whale had other plans and didn't resurface anywhere near us. We were then honoured by an escort of a large group of dolphins back into the inner bay. I highly recommend this trip, even if you don't see anything, the anticipation and views of Monterey Bay are well worth it. Everybody involved were very friendly and very helpful. | ||||||

| We went out on this whale watching tour in hopes of getting close to whales in their natural habitat. We were not disappointed! We saw a small group of blue whales feeding on the edge of the canyon and got to stay long enough to see them come to the surface at least 4 times. It was very cool to see them so close and to follow them for a time. One of the whales even flipped it's tail for us twice before diving. Our captain explained how rare that is for blue whales and we saw it two times! While we were waiting for the whales to surface, we saw pelicans, jelly fish, a black-footed albatross and a pod of about 30-60 common dolphins. It was all I could have hoped for and more. Even though the ocean was rolling with pretty high waves, the captain did a great job of keeping us as steady as possible. It was a great experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get out and see these magnificent creatures for themselves! | ||||||

| Though the crew and accommodations were fine and the water relatively calm, our trip starting at 1:30 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2009, did not result in whale or dolphin sightings. There was fog just outside Monterey Bay. We cruised back and forth in it while the crew talked with the crews of other boats in the area trying to locate whales. No mention was made of searching for the whales using passive sonar or other benign fish-finder equipment. Nor was the search successful, so we received an unrestricted raincheck for use at some future time. This was disappointing because the announcer had said that there were numerous whale sightings with other trips earlier in the day. Maybe next time, maybe at a different time of day. It's a big ocean and the critters are free to come and go as they please. | ||||||

| A heavy fog was in the ocean the day we went out. We sailed right into it and saw nothing. Should be refunds prior to going out if the weather is questionable, but the attitude seemed to be like the old fishing guide after a day of not seeing any fish, the guide says " well they were really biting yesterday!!" I know it's buyer beware, but next time, we'll wait to make the reservation until the actual day of the event to make sure we maximize our weather chances. A real waste of $90. | ||||||
