A Fascinatinf Adventure

| The trip out to the actual whale watching spot took about 45 minutes. After taking two motion sickness tablets before boarding the ship, by the time we reached the destination, I was fast asleep. When I did wake to view the dolphins and whales, there was plenty to see. The number of dolphins far outweighed the whale sightings. Dolphins could be seen jumping out of the water, and I even caught a glimpse of a humongous whale fin. It is worth the journey if you appreciate a rare glimpse of a historic animal. | ||||||

| We went out on a nice sunny day, but the water was very choppy. We were warned of this ahead of time. Ride out to the whale site took a while, but was well worth the wait. We saw lots of whales and one even came right on the side of the boat. We have been on whale watching tours in Hawaii and have never gotten this close! Truly an experience for all of us, especially the aunt visiting from Texas who was the one who asked to "see the whales". | ||||||

| WE WENT OUT 12 MILES TO SEE WHALES AND YES THERE THEY WERE, SEVERAL HUMPBACK WHALES. WE ONLY SPENT ABOUT 15 MINUTES SEEING THEM AND THEN IT WAS TIME TO GO BACK. THIS WAS A 2 1/2 TO 3 HOUR TRIP. RECOMMEND A LONGER TRIP. ALTHOUGH, WE DID ENJOY THE TRIP AND WERE THANKFUL WE GOT TO SEE SOME WHALES. | ||||||

| Well worth going on. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Do not take if you get sea sick though, can be bumpy even on the nicest of days. Saw humpbacked whales...fantastic. | ||||||

| I went on the trip with my son and daughter, my son had never been on a "Whale Watch" before, so it was great to be with him, My daughter had been on one on the east coast, so this was a first time for her also, we had a really good day,. the crew was very friendly and helpful. | ||||||

| I think I can pretty much say if you go on this tour you will definitely see something. Whether it's a dolphin, whale, sea lion, killer whale or something else. We saw at least two different species of dolphins and several blue whales. The dolphins came right up to the boat but we didn't have any really friendly whales that did the same. The whales were all off in the distance about 200 yards or so. The friendly ones are supposed to come right up to the boat. That would have been awesome! We could still smell their breath though. We didn't see any killer whales or sharks but it wasn't that time of year plus it didn't sound as if they weren't seen here as often as the other species of whales and dolphins. The tour guide was quite enthusiastic and certainly add extra flare to the trip. She really made it fun and was quite happy to answer any questions. Bring a jacket to wear for sure! When the boat was stopped the temperature was fine (late September and overcast). But when we were cruising along the wind was very cold. It was a fun and educational tour. I would definitley do it again. | ||||||

| I have been on a few trips around Monterey, and every time I saw whales and dolphins, so it is a great thing and very sure. I liked the staff of the princess who are very accommodating and knowledgeable - they made the trip fun. I booked the late afternoon tour and they called me and recommended to go on the early tour, because the late tour might not have enough people signing up. I appreciated the communications with them and the help they offered. I could call them back and change my plans without any wait and no problems... Great experience and nice people! | ||||||

| When I spoke with your representative who took my order, I requested that we only be assigned the Monterey Princess vessel, As this boat was some what larger than its sister and I was worried that my wife may become sea sick on the smaller boat. When I arrived for the trip I was told that I had been placed on the smaller boat but that I could wait around for an hour and a half to go on the Monterey Princess. I was told by the person greeting us at the dock that this mistake was often made. Since this trip is so unique and enjoyable, why don't you fix this confusing problem. Once again, if the reservations were not misleading, the experience would have been Perfect. | ||||||

| My Bride and I went on the Princess Whale watching cruise during our honeymoon. Although it was overcast and quite cold we had a very enjoyable time. We saw a variety or marine life including 4 whales, and a large group of 3 different species of dolphins. The boat ride was great. The "naturalist" on the tour was very knowledgeable and funny. All in all a very nice experience, that we would recommend to anyone who might be interested. | ||||||

| This trip had a small group with lots of room to move around and see what we came to see. We saw four humpback whales--two of them surfaced five times while we were there. We saw porpoises running along with the boat and dozens of dolphins. We even saw a jellyfish and some strange round white fish (sunfish?). It was very much worth the cost and I would do it again and again! | ||||||

| This trip was fantastic. It was a birthday gift for my friend and we both loved it. We arrived about 45 minutes early to find that the trip was being delayed about 45 minutes while the boat came back. It wasn't that bad to wait. The sun was shining and some of the smaller stores on the wharf were fun to look at. Getting on board finally, we chose our sitting spot on the far side of the boat from the dock. 5 minutes from the dock, we lost the sunshine and out came the jackets. Traveling to the spot where they'd seen whales that morning seemed to take forever but the ocean wasn't too bad and the information coming over the loudspeaker was interesting to listen to. We finally got to the spot and yes, there were humpback whales out there. The boat was kept pretty much facing them head on so the few of us who had been ill on the way out didn't get to see them that much. It was safer not to move just yet. Luckily for us, the whales moved almost directly in front of our side of the boat and gave us one heck of a show, with lots of blows and tail flukes showing. We also had plenty of visits from the porpoises, something we were told didn't happen too often. They were all over the front of the boat and right next to my side of the boat so I got to see plenty of them. My friend used the video capability of his camera to film them. It really was thrilling. It seemed way too soon when the boat had to turn around and head back to the dock. The greatest thing was, we ran into dolphins on our way back and those of us who were still outside were treated to quite a show. All in all, this trip was worth the longish drive from my friend's home, the coolness because of the fog, and the upset stomach. I'd do it again in a heartbeat and plan to later this year.
