My husband and I were suprised that we got on a tour the day after we called. We got their ahead of time and was warmly recived, and we waited to board, Once on the boat we found a place to stand in front, As we headed out my man needed to sit and found a place even though the boat was full. We got full instructions on safety and how to spot a whale. The first whale was a shock than it became easy to spot, see,and shoot lots of pictures and video, as our captin kept us right up with seversl amazing animals. We will do this again......

My wife and I took the 2-3 hour tour in the morning, once at the area of sighting the whales, the WOW factor was more than our expectations! We saw humpbacks, and blue whales feeding on krill in the same area that came within 50 yards of the boat! Approx. 13 different sightings...so much activity that you couldn't decide which way to look! The boat ride was very smooth and comfortable. The staff was very knowledgable and checked on everyone to meet your needs. Be sure to wear warm clothes as recommended. We would do another tour with them and we would highly recommend!

We had to go pretty far out but were rewarded with the sight of three humpback whales breaching and playing in the water. AMAZING. Bring warm coats, we went in June and the wind off the water was cold.

The crew was super friendly, the marine biologist was adorable and enthusiastic. There wasn't a lot of action at first so they actually took us out further than they normally go just so we could see some whales. It was an amazing experience, even for a local!

I've gone on 10 trips in the past 20 months and have seen Orcas once, Humpbacks twice, Parrot Fish, Rizzo Dolphins three times, Blue whales three times and gray whales three times. I recommend going at different times of the year to see the variety that the bay has to offer. Great trip and a great crew to take you out.

The boat ride to our whale destination was an hour out to sea. We spotted two whales and pretty much followed those whales around for about, 30-40 minutes, then back to the pier. The boat ride makes you a little queasy, wear sunblock, and you will get wet if you're by the front of the boat. Also, it's pretty cold so no dresses and good luck thinking you can just wear a long sleeve. hopefully on your trip you get to see more whales and dolphins. It's a very hit or miss kind of trip. The people were friendly and I still enjoyed myself being out on sea.

Great energy from the naturalist and many whales

We have been on multiple whale watches in Alaska, California, and Maine. The boat was a little bigger than I prefer but the naturalist was very good and we did see about a dozen humpback whales. A pair came right up to the boat on their own. I would recommend them as a good option out of Monterey.

Our guide was really great. Funny and knowledgable. She had lots of enthusiasm and mounds of experience. Our captain didn't really go as close to the whales as we'd want him to, another boat was much closer everytime.

My sister (lives within 2 1/2 hours) recommended we go "whale watching" when I came to visit from southern Florida last week. Having never seen a whale, this sounded fun, so we made the reservation and went out on the 1:30 trip. Katherine (I think?), the naturist, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and promised we'd see a few whales. Well, we certainly did! We saw a mother blue whale and her cub, a trio of humpback whales, more blue whales, more humpback whales, and the elusive but very fast "fin whale." (never heard of that one, but she was really excited about that!) The day was overcast when we left, but I managed to get burned on my nose and forehead, so heed the warnings about using sunscreen! It was chilly on the water, but we weren't freezing, since we had brought sufficient coats, scarves and even gloves (yes, it was late June but apparently Monterey weather is not like South Florida in June!) The sky cleared up and it was quite a pleasant day. The water was very choppy, but manageable, although it was hard to walk around on the boat, especially as Katherine kept shouting, "humpback at 11:00!! Blue whales at 2:00!! Fin whales at 12:00!!" But we did see all the whales, and lots of pelicans, and a couple of sea otters or seals, I get them mixed up. All in all, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend it! Before, or afterwards, be sure to sample all the clam chowder on the pier and pick which restaurant to go into to have the bread bowl, most were offering free appetizers, too!
