I thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Monterey WW. The crew was great as well as the narrative on the trip. It was so exciting even though one of our group got sea sick so I would recommend medicine for that if in doubt just take it !! We saw at least 6 hump backs breaching the water and from the narrative from the crew I knew exactly what I was looking for so I did not miss a thing !! Even got some of it on video with my digital camera. Priceless !!! We also saw a school of Pacific white sided dolphins they put on a nice little show as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU WILL LOVE IT. I will definitely being going again.....

Exceeded expectations!

Having read the reviews on line we thought we couldn't possibly be as lucky. But after a very short time our first whale was spotted and it was a blue - unbelievable! I remember wondering at a model of the blue whale in the Natural History museum in London as a child and so to see one in reality was amazing. We then saw another blue and a calf as well as several humpbacks. On our trip we also saw dolphins, black albatross and sea otters. The crew were friendly and helpful and the narrative informative. An excellent tour!

The ride alone was worth it!

We took our trip on a breezy morning so the water was a bit choppy, but that made it fun! We had a few sightings of whales and got to see otters and sea lions up close. No close whale encounters that day, though we did see several blows and almost their flukes while they fed. It was definitely an experience with the just the sail alone, and the sea life we encountered was an added bonus to the trip. I will definitely be going back again and during different seasons to view a variety of aquatic life.

First time whale watching and I would recommend it to everyone. Kids had a blast and we saw a humpback whale, seals and lots of jelly fish. Dress warm if you are on the 10am boat. Definitely bringing my nieces to experience this.

Well and calmly run, nicely low key

This was my third whale watching attempt but my first when I actually saw whales. The staff were well organized, quiet and calm, except for the naturalist, whose job it was to be excited. We saw about 16 whales altogether, 4 blues and the rest humpbacks. I really want to complement the thorough information on the company's website, which covered what we should wear, what we should bring, availability of parking, and even included a suggestion that we bring our own snack (though they sell some) and check the marine weather forecast (with a link to the page) if we are concerned about the size of the waves! My 15 year old French guest was thrilled with the experience. I would like to ask them (and maybe I will) whether they have video of the trip available for purchase, because it was a bit difficult to take photos or video and watch for the whales at the same time. I would go with this company again.

Whale Watching in Monterey Bay

This was a one of a kind experience. This Whale Watching Cruise had a marine biologist on-board that was fantastic. She was great with people, funny and very knowledgeable. When whales were sighted it was often difficult to define who was more excited. She definitely loved her job and made it a great experience for our family. We saw about 20 humbacks and were able to get within 100yards. It was quite cold for mid-July, but worth it. I'd advise taking the necessary pills to stave off sea sickness. We were out for the full 2.5 hrs and the seas were rolling pretty good. There were a few green faces by the halfway point. But a small price to pay to see these magnificent creatures in their natural surroundings.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Monterey Whale Excursion. The only criticism I would give is that the boat did not get very close to the whales we saw. It seemed like other boats kept getting in our way.

Decent outing but only a glimpse of a humpback

The weather on the day was great, blue sky and 20 degrees, this made the boat ride to the spotting area very pleasant. The captain gave us some interesting info on the way which made the trip go quickly, takes around 40 minutes. After about an hour of searching we spotted a humpback which was very exciting however we were only able to see the spray initially. We hung around for a while but unfortunately were only able to see brief glimpses of the whale, a good look at the tail was as good as it got. This put a downer on the trip and made the trip back seem a lot longer. So to summarise, professional company but the lack of whale spotting unfortunately means I can't give a better than average review as that's what it's all about really!

Of course you always want to see more - hopefully we will be able to be back and go again. Enjoyed the day and the sights... got to see Orca's who stayed with us at the surface for 30 minutes!

Very disappointing journey as we did not see a single whale across this several hours cold journey on the Pacific. Half of the tourists onboard got sea sick...

The staff on this trip were amazing. They repeatedly made sure everyone was having a good time. The narrator gave detailed information about the whales and other marine life we saw. We plan to go again during high migrating season to see more of these majestic animals.
