Everybody involved is curteous, friendly, helpful and professional.. The Princess Monterey is a fine vessel -- it's always clean and well cared for. I have gone whale watching on this boat numerous time. On this last trip, I was really impressed with a couple of the crew who were very kind and caring with a woman and small boy and an older woman, all of whom were seasick. |

The boat and crew were very good. The experience of seeing so many whales and dolphins was wonderful. Actually, I was most impressed with seeing the very large school or more than 100 northern right whale dolphins leaping out of the water in unison.
One serious note. My wife and I both believe that you and the boat captain should insist that people plan on taking some kind of anti-motion sickness pills unless they know they do not get sea sick. The swells were large and the boat both rolled and rocked.
I got sick but avoided heaving, but many others got sick over the side of the boat, which the crew cleaned up immediately and thoroughly. Just straight forward info on the likelihood of getting sick would help lots of folks.
I will go again probably on the same boat, but I will be taking Bonine, which my wife took and did not get sick at all. |

An afternoon out on the ocean watching whales feeding and frolicking-- this trip far
exceeded my expectations. The crew were great, seeing to our safety and comfort. The
information provided by the marine biologist was fascinating, teaching us many
facts about the life cycle of both Blue Whales and Humpback Whales, which we
could see swimming all around the boat. When one of the great creatures would
breach, we all ooh'ed and ah'd, as photographers around us caught them in action.
To see these huge whales out in their natural environment was an awesome
experience! I loved it! |

Would have been almost better if three of us had not felt rather sea-sick |

The person giving the oration of the tour said before we boarded and shortly after boarding that the boat would keep rotating so everyone would be able to view the whales, but the majority (I would say at least 75%) of the time was spent with whale visibility at 11:00. For senior citizens like myself, it was difficult to try and manuever side to side or back to front and vice versa when we were told to stay put and the boat would rotate - didn't happen.
My other complaint on this particular boat was visibility at the front was severly limited by virtue of that extension (don't know what it is called, but where harpooning would take place) in the front blocked the view. Seeing other boats in the area with people having full visibility at the front of the boat just exacerbated the situation.
Seeing the number of blue whales was exciting and not an everyday occurance and that I appreciated. I have been on quite a few whale watches (not only in Monterey), and I would go on another whale sighting excursion in a heartbeat, but not on this boat ever again. |

I have been on previous launches from the bay area and this was one of the very best. Friendly and informed crew.
I would recommend to others. |
