Our guide was terrific - very knowledgable, funny, and enthusiastic. We went in January so it was quite cold and swells were enormous (think roller coaster). Recommend taking dramamine and dressing very warmly before going given conditions. We sighted seals, Dahl's dolphins, otters, but unfortunately no whales. It was disappointing. After an hour and a half our entire group was ready to head back to shore. The crew was very friendly, the cabin warm, and snacks were there for those who got hungry. Would do it again in hopes of sighting whales. |

We had a wonderful trip back in October, and decided to bring the Family on this trip. The waves where unbarable as the entire family got sick and threw up, we did not see much at all and spent way to much time bouncing in the sea. I would have much rather them tell us the waves are to high, and the sightings are low so we had the option to refund or rescehdule our trip. I would have gladly taken a vochure for another time.
I will never pre-book tickets again for this event. I will wait until the day, then check the waves, the sightings at the time we want to go so we do not spend the trip bouncing in the sea just to get sick for the entire tip and then some.
If this was my first trip, I would never go again and would never recommend it to anyone.

I was not happy when we checked in and found out that it may be canceled because they didn't have enough customers that day. They had in writing that the only thing that would cancel it was extremely bad weather and that the tickets were nonrefundable otherwise. This " policy" should be put in writing. But we did go and I had a great time chasing all over the ocean for whales, which we did finally see from half a mile away during the last 15 minutes of the trip. You could make out that they were indeed whales but as far as taking a picture or getting one of those oooh aaah moments, forget it. I loved the trip anyway just the up and down of the waves, etc. Better luck next time actually seeing a whale. |

The captain did a great job finding a pod for us! Crew was knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour to others. |

Was excited to go whale watching especially as a surprise from me to my wife on her birthday . Grey whale were supposed to be in season for the ride and I had ordered the tickets online two months ahead of time to be sure we had seats.
The day was beautiful and the ocean calm - everything you could hope for. My Wife was surprised and very excited - she had not been for over thirty years whale watching. Arrive on time to find that the tour had been cancelled for the morning, but we could go in the afternoon if enough additional people would show up. After waiting (shoping) for three unscheduled hours it was finally time for the afternoon outing. No nature biologist to speak that day either. The boat is wonderful and big. We set off for our two and half hour tour. Amazed by what we saw - sealions, seabirds, and jellyfish by the thousands.
Alas no whales, no fish, no sharks, and hardly another boat on the entire ocean.
We did get a "no whale" voucher when we returned. Now if we can get back to Monterey, California in less than the seventeen years it just has taken. |

Although whales were not spotted, I guess I should say the captain, myself and one other passenger saw a whale roll; we kept on searching. Due to the scarcity of the whale pods the captain announced all would receive a "raincheck" that carried no expiration date. This made myself and my friend very happy knowing we can back when they are more plentiful at a later date, with of course, no expiration date. I call that "excellent customer service". Thanks for trying so hard. |

It was a fun trip. Had hoped to see more whales and closer, but family enjoyed the pair we did see. It was a little cold in November, but we came prepared. |
