Oh my Gosh!!!!! I had the best time!! We saw 13 Blue Whales, 1 Humpback Whale, dozens of dolphins and hundreds of birds. I realize that there is no guarantee to see any whales and we definitely hit the jackpot ... but even without the whales it was a fun trip!
The staff was wonderful! Our Naturalist (Christine) was enthusiastic, educational and fun! She really loves what she does! I can see why!
I did bring a coat and was glad I did. I only wish I had remembered my binoculars. I stood at the front of the boat the whole time and had the time of my life!
Don't hesitate! Go on this tour .. you won't regret it! I plan to return the next time I'm in the area. |

Very professional, good to know how the recent, previous trips had gone. the sightings were awesome. Crew kept the ship pretty steady and safety was a key concern and we appreciated that. The marine biologist was knowledgeable and amusing, although the sound system wasn't great. |

The crew is friendly and knowlegable. The naturalist knew her whales and olther ocean life with much gusto. You will not only see the whales, but learn about them and other animals. Lots of fun. |

We saw 75 whales in 2 hours. Humpbacks, Grays and the rarer Blue whale.
A huge pod of dolphins also entertained us. |

My husband and I were celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary and spent the weekend in Monterey. We both have always wanted to go whale watching and decided it would be a great time since we did not have our young kids with us. This cruise exceeded our expectations. We had the best time ever and highly recommend this cruise to all of our friends and family. The tickets were super simple to process online, the woman that gathered us to explain the tour before we got on the boat was fabulous and is a perfect fit for the job. We got so excited about all the whale and dolphin sitings she told us about from previous trips that week. The boat was super clean and totally comfortable. We saw so many whales and dolphins on this trip. It was absolutely amazing. It was a trip that we will remember forever and will be bring our kids and family back to when we visit Monterey again. We are from Santa Cruz, Ca so, it is not too far of a drive for us. Keep up the great work!

Saw Blues and Humpbacks and Risso Dolphins! Amazing trip! Every day can't be that good for whale watching. But am sure crew would be good to be with on a day w/ less sightings too. They were very helpful: My son got slightly sea sick and a crew member took him by the hand and led him to the best place on the boat ride it out. The naturalist was knowledgeable and approachable and funny. The snacks and were overpriced but not impossible: 3 for beer, 2 for cookies and and candy. You can bring snacks.
Tip: IMHO: Don't bother renting or bringing Binoculars, you don't know where the whales are going to be and they are up and down too fast. Just a distraction from the experience of being out with nature. You would miss too much.
Another note: My kids (7 and 4) started to be be ready to go back by the last 20 minutes. And remind them it is not quite like a Nation Geographic film (though it was closer than I thought it would be!) So plan accordingly.
Have a great time!
If you get a good look it will be the experience of life time!
It was for me! |

Our friends from Germany wanted to see whales. They were not disappointed! We saw tons of whales. The staff was great: friendly, and clearly love what they are doing, which makes the trip filled with enthusiasm. The boat was clean and comfortable. It was a larger boat, which was great because our friend has a tendency toward sea sickness, and was a bit nervous about the idea of a smaller boat. The inside seating and tables were great when it got a bit chilly. Definitely recommend the activity and this particular vessel. |

Our family enjoyed this activity as the weather was perfect. The 2 to 2.5 hours was thouroughly active as the whales were feeding and there were many dolphins. We saw both blue and humpback whales. At one time, they came very close to the boat. Because there was a lot of animal activity, we basically stayed in one area and did not have to go looking for the whales. My daughter, 6 years old, stayed on the deck railing the whole time amazed at the whales. She was just taking in everything that was going on with the whales and the dolphins. The naturalist was very knowledgeable and at times funny. In all, it was a very good day for whale watching as everything came together with good weather. I would recommend going on the early cruise as the ocean tides are calm. Hopefully, others will get the same experience. |

The trip started on time and we had seen many whale activites (atleast 25 to 35) and hundreds of dolphins and sea lions. This was our first whale watch expedition and each one of us enjoyed. The boat crew was extermely friendly and helpful. They stopped very close to the whales (as much as 20-25 feet). I would very much recommend this company to those who are interested whalewatch in Monterey. Good job Princess crews..... |
