From start to finish, I felt like I made the right choice in tours. The guide was informative and had matchless energy and enthusiam. We enjoyed watching several Gray Whales and a Humpback. Some tours will see more and some tours will see less - it just depends on weather, season, and luck. The guide likened the tours to treasure hunts, and although they can't gaurantee sightings, they seemed pretty good at finding the right places, spotting whales, and helping us have a comfortable viewing experience. The guide took the time to find out that I was interested in birds (as well as whales), and pointed out Black-footed Albatross, Rhinoceros Auklet, and Common Murre. I even saw a Harlequin Duck. I'd like to go again. |

I saw a sperm whale and an albatross bird which the crew said was a rare happening. I was excited and amazed at the sightings and the information that the crew provided. I love mother nature and all she provides. Getting to be part of that rarity on the Princess Monterey made me feel like a princess myself. Thanks to the crew my trip was more than I expected.
Meeting the owner of the boat was a special treat, also.
Thanks, again, Princess Monterey crew! |

Too Long, Too Sick, And Very Little Wildlife

This was nearly a 3hr trip where we spent over an hour travelling to the viewing spot. The weather was clear & dry and the water had a little swell but by the time we were looking for whales a number of people felt sick. We saw 3 killer whale fins a couple of times and a few dolphin fins once or twice while the boat bobbed around for 30 mins making people feel sicker. On the way back the boat was pretty silent as most people felt sick and a good number of them spent the return vomitting off the back. After countless boat trips this is the first I've felt seasick on, and clearly I wasn't alone - all my party felt the same and the looks and sounds from the other travellers seemed to agree. |

Just want to let people know that this event was great! Even though I suffered a bit from motion sickness (even after taking medicine), I had a great time! I would recommend it to others and would like to go back out again sometime. Sincerely, Micheal (pronounced Michelle) |

Do not waste your time and money on this trip. There were 13 people on our trip, the weather was terrible (raining), and the seas were very high. We saw one school of dolphins swimming, and after riding out further in very high seas, we stopped. Our "whale watching" consisted on seeing three spouts of water about 300 yards off that we were told were whales blowing water. We never saw any part of a whale. We stayed parked for about 1/2 hour, then returned to port in very rough seas again. At least 1/2 of the people on this trip were sick from the seas. This was a terrible waste of time and money. Such a shame because many people I know have experienced great whale watching trips. |

This was our first whale watching excursion in Monterey and when I went online to research, there were several outfits to choose from. I relied heavily on the comments made by others when making my decision and boy am I glad I went with Princess Monterey Whale Watching. We had a fantastic time, saw lots of gray whales and even some jellyfish. I guess it didn't hurt that for a February morning the weather was just beautiful! But I must say that the crew was top notch too. From check-in right up til the end, they were courteous, professional and knowledgable, we couldn't have asked for a better trip. Thanks for a great time, hope to come back again soon! |

My daughter chose this activity as part of her birthday celebration. We saw gray whales blowing and she was lucky enough to see the tail of one diving. We also saw a mola mola, which was a special treat. Lots of seabirds and otters to enjoy, too. The trip was enjoyable and included lots of factual information regarding Monterey Bay aquatic life that we didn't know before. Great activity! |

While we did see a few whales spouting but the true highlight of the trip was "running" with a herd of dolphin. It was the most amazing experience, literally hundreds of dolphin flying through the air and water along side our ship. We'll never forget it! |
