Overall it was a good experience. Would have liked to see more but glad we were able to see the whale's tail a couple of times. It gets very very cold!!! Bring a beanie and some gloves |

My sister was visiting from Florida over winter break, so I decided to take her whale watching on the bay. She had an amazing time, and thanks to the expertise of the staff on the boat we got close (but not too close to be uncomfortable) to the whales. It took about 30 minutes to get to where the whales were, and along the way we passed SO many jellies in the water, sea lions, seals, otters, and pelicans - not to mention the views of Pacific Grove were beautiful. The only downside(s) to the outing were my fault entirely. I didn't realize how chilly it would get on the way back to the harbor, but had I had a better jacket this certainly could have been avoided. Also, I didn't take motion sickness medicine beforehand, which I now will highly recommend to anyone going whale watching. I got sick a few times, so if you haven't been on boat in a few years, take precaution. I plan on going again with my boyfriend, but taking necessary measures to ensure I don't get sick again. |

Try to get a decent spot on the boat so you can potentially see both sides whenever a whale makes an appearance. Very informative and beautiful. Bring warm clothes because it can get cold. You don't want to be one of the people who sits in the cabin the whole time and take a nap. Very much worth it! |

We had a wonderful time. Saw six whales, dolphins, otters and birds. I thought it would be memorable to take the family whale watching on Christmas Day and they were the only co. I could find opened that day. Loved the big heated cabin for when it started raining. Very informative on the animals. |

As someone much smarter than me said: "You'se puts your money down, you'se takes your chances."
The whales were not in a mood to perform on Christmas Day. We understand. Besides the main attraction, the ship was great, the Captain noticeably talented and the crew was very competent and friendly, but "instant coffee" in this day and age? "Come on, man." |

Great time with a grey whale and dolphin sightings. Unfortunately, we had some folks on board who couldn't handle the seas (or follow the crew's directions in that regard). |

My wife and I had a great trip. We saw lots of wales . But we could never get close enought . Every time they go down in the water they come up in a different place away from the boat. The captain told us there is a law that tells them how close to the wales they can get. So get some good binoculars with a neck strap .Buy the way have a neck strap for your camera also .Layer your clothes and dress warmly . Watch your food intake before the trip .Alot of people get sick and miss the wales. My wife and I don't eat until after the trip.Have a great time we did |

Beautiful whale watch out on Monterey Bay

We saw more than 20 whales and even a few whale tails and one feeding whale...also a closeup view of the
harbor seals near the dock. Very informative naturalist describing whale lives and their migration through the
Monterey Bay. Captain dealt with some high waves without causing any seasickness (one child-yes).
We were fortunate that our reservation was changed from a rainy day to a beautiful sunny day. As a couple, our
first ever whale watch tour in Monterey. Very friendly crew and fellow passengers. |
