definitely worth experiencing

Seeing the whales first hand is amazing, never experienced anything quite like it. One thing I wish I had known when we set out - BRING A COAT! We traveled to Monterey from Sacramento in July. Back at home the temperature was 105+ so I had no idea how cold it would get out on the water. Hat, jacket and gloves would have been nice. (Sure, the interior of the boat is heated, but I found that most of the whales were out in the water, not inside the boat.) Have fun!

I loved the trip and love seeing the whales. Things that would make it better include having less people on the boat so it would be easier to move around and getting closer to the whales. Other than that, clean boat, great guide, friendly staff.

Good commentary and good sightings. The boat held a respectful distance to the whales but still managed to be close to them. We saw humpback whales on our trip.

This was an incredible experience. We saw lots of whales, literally in every direction we looked there were whales. This is truly an experience of a life-time. The crew of the ship was very friendly. The description by the biologist was not clearly understandably at times because of the noise level, but I think that's just the way it is, this can't be helped. She came round when the ship went back to answer any questions, which was really nice.

Really enjoyed the whale watching trip with Princess Monterey. Even the less enthusiastic in our party really enjoyed it. We managed to see Humpbacks and their tails, a pod of Risso's Dolphins and even a couple of Blue Whales. I wasn't aware of anyone on board getting seasick, which was a worry after reading some reviews. The commentary was enthusiastic and informative, but with plenty of quiet time to enjoy the trip. Would definitely go again.

We had a wonderful experience. The captain was extremely knowledgable and was able to identify all the marine wildlife we encountered. And we were albe to see a bunch. The staff was helpful and continually asked if we were all ok, and assisted other passengers that were seasick. The only complaint is that on certain areas of the ship, the loudspeaker that the captain was using was impossible to hear.
