Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruises

It was our pleasure to be on board the Pacific Explorer boat to watch different kinds of Whale in Monterey bay. Late October and early November are goodweather months to watch Whales and other sea animals

11/14/08 ... We saw lots of California Sea Lions, a few harbor seals, some adorable up-close sea otters (eating crabs) .... all were very delightful and photogenic. Some nice sea birds, too (pelicans, cormorants, terns and gulls). Once we got to the feeding site (approximately 1 hour), we saw at least seven humpback whales -- some right next to the boat. Lots of spouts, backs, and tails!!! It was simply delightful. Be sure and dress in layers and warmly ... even though it was 75 degrees and sunny, it was very cold in the wind and the spray. Also, be prepared with meds and sour candies for some motion sickness -- the water/wind was choppy and some tummy discomfort was pretty common. Also, sunglasses and/or a hat/visor really can help with the glare. Boat staff was competent, professional, courteous. Boat facilities were just fine. (You may want to take your own snacks.) Boat is really NOT set up for a stroller or infants .... so leave them at home.

Good tour, took about 1 hour 15 mins to get out to where the whales were which left only 30 minutes for viewing before we had to return. But ship and crew were great and got us up close to the whales. would recommend to those with only a short time available to dedicate to a whale watching cruise.

The Captain seemed very knowledgeable about the whales and other sea life we saw. The crew was very helpful.

I would highly recommend this to anyone. There were two whales that were two feet from the boat. I got to take some great pictures. i would highly recommend it to anyone!

Enjoyed the experience of seeing whales close up right alongside the boat. Worthwhile trip. Staff friendly and helpful.

Benji, As I mentioned to you as I was leaving after the cruise, the crew was magnificent. The Captain was informative, and his boat handling skills were appreciated as we had swells to the beam of us. Over the years I have been aboard many similar charters, and Monte's style of taking care of the guests aboard was very nice. When someone got ill, Monte would be right there to make sure they were ok...We will highly recommend " Monterey Whale Watching" to our friends and clients. Regards, - Gary Clausen

The staff members were helpful, cheerful, and made sure everyone had a great time. We headed out on a sunny morning, seeing seals, jelly fish, and lots of birds. When the first whale spout was spotted the boat headed in that direction, being sure not to be a bother to those wonderful animals. The engines were turned off, and before long, beautiful Humpbacks were coming alongside our boat to "people watch". We were treated to a great experience, and lots of information about the whales and their habitat. Great Time- Do it!

We had a great experience- the whales came right up to the boat! We were out on the water for a full three hours with spectacular views. The guides were well informed and very willing to answer questions. Enjoyable day.

Had a fantastic day out on the Princess Monterey Whale watching cruise. Staff were very friendly & helpful. The Humpback whales were fantastic & came right up along side the boat. Would def recommend this trip.
