Wonderful Experience from a skeptic

I'm naturally cynical and was concerned that my husband and I would shell out $80 to go out, be cold and see nothing. I was completely wrong! This was one of the best experiences of my life. We did the 9am trip and while the weather was cool, I was able to sit outside for almost the entire trip and stay relatively warm. The crew was pleasant and knowledgeable and seemed, every bit as excited as their passengers, to take in the sights of the humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals and other marine life. We were not only fortunate enough to see one group of whales but also a second group. The Captain really seemed to understand the importance of timing with regard to the dolphins swimming along side the boats, as well as the length of time the passengers needed and wanted to stay and take pictures/video etc. of the spectacular animals. I even overheard that the Captain had allowed 2 children to come up and see the view from his deck. I fully recommend this trip and we are returning in November and hope to take the trip again. When our children meet the age requirements we plan to return on this trip with them. *****

Everyone should try this at least once. Saw several whales so the purpose of the trip was fulfilled. If visions of 'National Geographic' are on your mind; forget it. The whale spotting is just that - spot a surfacing whale, see it dive and wait for the next one. Before departure, boat operator mentioned there was a little 'bump' in the ocean. Beware! That means the ride out will be VERY BUMPY. Those conditions will be a challenge to weak tummies. Be sure to dress in layers (as they advise you on their web site) because it can be cool on the way out, and then warmer when idling to observe the whales. Otherwise, the trip is what is advertised. The length of time observing whales is adequate. The ride back is smooth and allows for time to appreciate the coastline.

We had a 40' to 50' humpback whale hanging around our boat for about 15 minutes. It was an experience of a lifetime. Thank you Montery Princess. The shipboard guide did an excellent job of providing information about all of the wildlife we encountered.

My girlfriend and I had a blast going Whale watching in Monterey. It was very awesome just getting out on the water and cruising around the bay. On my trip, we got to see a pack of three humpback whales. The whales came right up to the boat and we were able to get some awesome pictures. We liked the activity a lot and we'll definitely do it again next time were in Monterey. I recommend this activity to anyone who loves nature or just going boating. It was great!

This was a great trip, good value for money, and alot of fun. We saw quite a few whales and alot of dolphins. The crew were friendly and helpful. A couple of things to bear in mind ; It was very cold even though it was unbelievably warm on the shore) so dress warm, and although we turned up half an hour in advance, there really was no need for that, and we ended up literally just standing there waiting. I think 15 mins early would be more reasonable.
