We weren't sure of how this would go, as my daughter and I both tend to get seasick. It was a teensy bit rough (3-4 foot swells?) when we went out, and she and I did well just hanging outside, staying toward the back of the boat. When we got out away from shore, they found and followed (at a distance, of course) a mother humpback and her calf. It was incredibly cool, the calf decided to get lively and kick it's tail up and give us a bit of a show. Kids (and Dad and I) loved every minute of it. DRESS WARM and layer up! We were okay, just a bit cool, as this was a windy, cloudy April day. I'd recommend some light gloves and a warm hat in addition to layered sweatshirt/coat. My daughter and I never got sick, by staying outside though, so you need to be dressed warm if you do so. Highly recommend it! |

The Biologist was very knowlegeable and gave us lots of interesting facts. We went to see whales and we got to see them. We plan to go whale watching again in the further. |

The guide was informative and funny. She was very friendly. She knew all about marine life. We saw lots of whales and seals. The whole experience was enjoyable. We had our daughter and son-in-law with us and they loved the experience too!!! |

We were originally scheduled to go out on the afternoon Princess Monterey tour. Got a phone call about 09:30 informing us that the afternoon tour was being cancelled due to bad weather being expected. Offered to reschedule us for the morning tour, a different day tour or a refund! We opted to go on the morning tour since this was the primary purpose for our visit to Monterey. Good choice! Weather was chilly and seas were up to 10 feet but the captain and the boat handled both well. Were out for about two hours with no sighting and then a pod of 3 gray whales were spotted. Got to spend about 45 minutes watching these beautiful creatures before we had to head back.
Captain and crew were super - friendly and willing to take the time to answer any questions asked. A few people got sick on the tour and the crew did everything they could to help make their situation more tolerable.
I would highly recommend this company and, in fact, I am already planning to return next year and go out with them more than once during our stay. |

This whale watching excursion was the high light of our trip to California from Colorado. The boat was large, the crew was professional. Everything was on time, and we saw 2 pods of gray whales. It was a wonderful experience. |

The whale watching trip was a little less than expected, but exciting. I tried to remain positive with the brief sightings of whale body parts darting below the surface, but it was just disappointing, and somewhat boring with their distance so far away. If you blinked your eyes at the wrong time, you missed it. Too few sightings for the time spent. We were treated nicely by the crew. |

We were thrilled with the trip. I would STRONGLY advise everyone to take some sort of sea sick preventative. I know for myself I need it so I always wear patches. We were told that our day out was very smooth & if that was so then I would have had a hard time even with a patch.
Everyone working the trip was most helpful & showed true concern for our time. The marine biologist was so entertaining & educational. Thanks for a great time! |

The staff and crew were great. We unfortunately did not see any whales but did see a large group of Risso Dolphins. Ocean was ruff with big swells. I took dramamine and did not eat before going out, otherwise I would definately have been sick. many others did get sick, but that's part of deal. |

It was a good experience for me, my husband and our well-socialized dog. The captain and the marine biologist welcomed my dog very much (but of course, your dog should be well-behaved and on leash at all times during the trip). I would recommend this to those who are patient to wait for the whales to surface on the water. This excursion is also for the true wildlife lovers, should understand that whales can be quite elusive but are fun to see once they're there. Sea birds are also fun to watch. |
