I thought it was a good tour for families and first timers. A lot of fellow passengers became ill so I don't know if there is a better way to prepare patrons for that possibility, but it was a lovely tour. My family happens to be very involved with the Aquarium and has been on several whale watching expeditions, so we might enjoy something a little more personal and in depth, but that is not a criticizm of the tour itself. While tours such as this are always dependent on the wildlife for a good show, they did very well with what was available. Thank you for an enjoyable time.

We had two sightings of two humpback whales. We saw about 8 tail flips. A great experience! And all of this in a 2.5 hour trip.

I saw whales and that was great!!! What I did not like was the boat, I'd ask on the phone, when I was making the reservation por the "Princess Monterey", the one on the brochure's picture, buytwe had a smaller and older one instead. I was traveling with my father, and it was a very uncomfortable trip, the waves were to big, and I think the boat to small for that so it was moving alot. But the people who worked there were very nice.
Rating: 4 Good trip and friendly people onboard

We had an excellent guide who told a lot during the trip. The man who was looking after the people on board was also very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who is going to visit Monterey.

Enjoyed the cruise because of the naturalist - she knew so much about the bay, the marine mammals and birds, and was able to fill in with informational material in between sightings of the whales and dolphins. One recommendation: DO take your dramamine. It will make the experience of your fellow shipmates SO much more pleasant. Once the boat gets beyond the smooth water of the harbor, you'll be glad you were prepared.

If you have the opportunity to do this, take it. But, seriously, people... if you've never been out to sea before, take some DRAMAMINE! Half of the people on the boat were puking. Other than that, the experience was GREAT. The captain was excellent and handled the swells very well. The deckhands were great also, being sure to take care of the people that were sick. We saw about seven whales, and hundreds of dolphins. Highly recommended. But, I say again: If you've never been to sea (on a boat of this size), take Dramamine! You can give it to your kids, too. Small vessels are NOT like larger ships.
Rating: 4 Great trip if you can handle the ocean movement

it was a good trip and there was a lot of wildlife to see. However, I would recommend that if you do get sea sick/motion sick easily that you do not eat much before hand and take something for it. If you don't, the trip will only end up you being over the siderail looking at the back of the boat for most of the trip. All in all I do recommend this trip, it was very exciting and memorable!
