Despite the cold weather, we did have a great time! Saw many many dolphins, and humpback whales. The best part was an awesome "jumping" display put up by a mother & calf humpbacks - just that part made it worth all the trouble. |

Our family took the whale watching trip while touring in Monterey one weekend. We had a great time. We saw lots of dolphins which was great fun. The crew did a great job trying to make everyone feel comfortable. There was a marine biologist on board who gave us lots of interesting information about sea life, the mammals we would be seeing, Monterey etc. We had to travel pretty far out to finally see the Humpback whales. I had imagined that we would see the whole whale, but we did see the tale come out of the water, the spout and definitely got a feeling for how large these mammals are. HUGE. It was worth the trip and I would highly recommend that people do this. NOTE: I also recommend that people take a motion sickness pill in advance as it will make your journey so much more comfortable. If you have any doubt, take the pill. Many people on the boat were unsettled by the swells and the motion and thus had to sit or lie down a lot of the time. My kids faired well on the boat but at one point they were very queasy and had to sit in the back for awhile before they could get up and walk around again. The feeling came and went fairly quickly. But if you can avoid it, do. Because you could easily miss the best parts if you are not feeling well. |

Saw the spouts of a blue whale, no grays. Spinner dolphins were exciting and info was helpful. Weather was overcast and water was rough. |

We weather was perfect. We saw lots of humpbacks and two pods of Orcas. I would have liked the captain to advise people that they didn't have to run from side to side of the boat. He could move the boat around so everyone could see. I'm short so when everyone ran to one side several people couldn't see
I have been on this boat before and the captain let everyone know that he would move the boat around so that eevryone could see.
The crew was great explaining things and being helpful to people who got seasick. |

Our Lifelong Learners group took the whale-watching cruise on Friday January 30. The weather was lovely, warm when in the sunshine, and we had a great day out. We saw lots of dolphins and several whales. The only disappointment was that as Monterey Bay is a wildlife conservation area the boats don't go close to the whales. (This was not pointed out to us.) Getting good photos with a regular camera is not possible. I have been whale-watching in South Africa where we got much closer so viewing was more exciting. |

Our family embarked upon the whale watch with no great expectations. We were pleasently surprised by how much we enjoyed the trip. Not only do you get fantastic views of the Monterey Bay but the whales only add to the unique experience! We saw a nice variety of sealife including sea otters, sea lions and whales on our trip. The staff are friendly and more than welcoming to any questions you might have about your trip and things you see. Would definitely recommend the company to any friends and family. |
