We were able to get some of our questions answered, but not very many. There was no naturalist on board even though it was advertised that there was. We got very lucky in seeing whales...the captain knew where they were. |

This was my second time whale watching from the Monterey Warf. From the experience I've had I can honestly say that what type of boat you go out on, has as much if not more to do with how pleasant or memorable your experience will be, as whether or not you see any whales or marine life.
The Princess is a great boat and is truly set up to ideally handle large groups of people all eager to spot ocean life up close and personal. The inside cabin is completely surrounded by windows allowing those who may get cold to still see from inside.
The larger profile of the Princess also means a smoother ride!! I big bonus if you are one to get sea sick, or for older or very young family members that may not do as well on a smaller more rocky boat's deck.
Over all I'd highly recommend the Princess for your first or future whale watching excursions. |

We would highly recommend this to anyone...young or old (unless you are prone to seasickness). It's a big boat which helped. We saw lots of whales, otters, birds, seals etc. Length of time was just enough. |

Apart from the sea sickness and the foul smell in the lounge, we had a great time |

The crew is very friendly. We saw 5 to 6 whales serveral times during the trip. The graduate student who accompanies the trip told us a lot about whales. It's a fun trip for both adults and children. |

We saw several whales that breached. I mean SEVERAL as in, "I can't believe how many are out and about today, unbelievable." The tour guide summed it up saying that our trip out there was 1 in a 100. Definitely.
I threw up several times, but despite my motion-sickness, it was a well organized, well MC'd tour. |
