Captain & AJ were awesome! Loads of knowledge, easy to get along with. Boat & bathroom was spotless!!! Excellent price. AJ sent additonal pics, at my request for a small fee since he was better & taking the pics quickly than a tourist..LOL One of the highlights of our 1st vacation in 20yrs. Also want to mention that the clerk @ the BW Monterey highly recommended the Princess.

This should be called SEA LIFE WATCHING CRUISES

After Driving for 2 hours and read very good reviews I was very disapointed with the cruise, no whales, no dolphins, NO NOTHING..ok some birds and Jellyfish but that's it...They gave us a rain check that can be used anytime and doesn't have expiration but it was very frustating. It's not true that is whale watch year round because the complete week before our cruise they haven't see one whale...bad advertisement. I really don't know when I will come back and if I will come back, so probably it was money not well spent.

Lots to see in a friendly and educational environment. Unfortunately, there were no whales to be seen BUT that was covered with the lifetime guarantee. Just wish we planned to be back in the area to take advantage!

No whales, but still a fun informative tour

If you like the Monterey Bay, you'll love this tour. We didn't even see any whales, but we still enjoyed ourselves immensely. The water was pretty calm and after the fog dissipated, the views were gorgeous. The guides and Captain were extremely informative and we were able to see two huge pods of Risso's dolphins, loads of jellyfish, a sunfish, otters, and, of course, sea lions and seals. We definitely plan to come back in July - we haven't given up hope of seeing a whale yet!

This is the second time we went out with princess whale watching. We had such a wonderful experience with them 2 years ago, we used them again. Pleasant staff, and very informative. Would definitely recommend to first timers!

Nice, but some things to know before you go

I have been on multiple whale watching trips, so I am comparing this one to those. First, the price is great, but what they don't tell you -- I didn't see it anywhere in any of their information, so either it is not there or it is not obvious -- is that the price you pay gets you entrance onto the lower deck of the boat only. If you want to go to the upper deck, for best viewing, it will cost you $20 per person more. I paid it because it really is the best viewing, but then once on the boat, they did not open the bow (front) of the top deck. Their naturalist and a photographer from the company were up there, but none of us were allowed. And, since they approach any viewing opportunity from the bow, then everyone on the top deck is forced to try to see from the sides until they get on-site and turn the boat. And, moving from side-to-side on the top deck then is a problem because one person blocking the side can prevent many people from moving. So, it is recommended, but just be aware of these things before you sign up.

We have never seen whales before (except at Sea World) It was very exciting! Six of the "killer whales" swam right toward us and under our boat! So glad we went, very informative and friendly staff, felt safe with all the precautions explained well to us.

We got to see Mola Mola fish, three different types of jelly fish one of which was the purple striped one, seals, some dolphins, and of course humpback whales. The only thing is I wish that we could have gone farther away from shore. Thank you it was fun! I'll prob go back!

See a whale not just a swell in the water

I had always assumed this activity was way out of my budget. The price was worth the experience! The time of our trip was changed due to rougher weather and they called 24 hour a head of time and offered several choices to reset our trip. I had a great experience with both 'zerve an the Whale Watching Staff. Well worth the money!
