Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruises

We had a great time on our whale watching trip! The staff was friendly and informative, and they did a great job all around. We managed to see 6 whales, which I thought was great. We have 2 kids, and they enjoyed every minute of it.

Would highly recommend this place.

Saw Grey whales although only at a adistance, the skippers were carefull not to crowd the whales. Commentary from an extremely enthusiastic guide and saw Dolphins on the way back so all in all agood trip

I plan on coming back to hopefully see Orca's.

The ocean was extremely rough but the captain was still able to locate a small group of whales. The whales were hard to see with the 13+ foot swells. Many people were sick. I think it would have been better to have rescheduled the tour for a later time when there were not 13+ foot swells and a small craft advisory for the open waters.

First of all, our guide was INCREDIBLE- very knowledgeable, perky and engaging. We had a lot of fun although it was cold out on the water, so prepare for that. This is definitely a fun event whether you're local or visiting Monterey for the first time.

The Princess is a beautiful boat. All things about the on-line reservation completely clear including driving instructions. Super polite staff. Will go again for sure.

We went out thursday the 16 of feb. The trip was ok and we did see some dalphins and gray whales. The only problem was we went out on the smaller boad and it was very bumpy ride. We had scheduled the trip because of the bigger 100 ft boat., which i am sure we would of had a nicer trip. To bad they dont do what they promised, there were a lot of smaller boat that we could have gone out in at a much lower price.

We saw a few whales in Feb., on a rather choppy day, which I was very happy about. There was also a lot of good information provided by the staff. I think it's worth attending the whale watching any time of year.

When we arrived, it was lightly raining and weather reported waves 6-10 feet high. Our captain advised we may not go all the way out and if not, we would get a nonexpiring ticket for future use. It was a blast! I enjoyed riding the waves and we did make it out but the whales were not very cooperative. We saw several blows, probably 8-10 and we did see the whales body emerge slightly. Another whale smacked its tail however I didn't see it, others did. I truly enjoyed this and I believe if the water wouldn't have been so choppy, we would have seen more. I highly recommend it!
