Wonderful Whale Watching.

Fishermans Wharf at 8:30 is a chilly place to be but several miles out on a grey overcast Pacific Ocean is even colder, it's a good job that the views of nature you get aboard the Princess warms your heart and soul. We ploughed relentlessly for an hour through slate grey most and waves until we reached the area that humpbacks had been spotted and then the clouds blinked open and ethereal silver light washed the waves. Humpback whales, seal ions and dolphins all came out to play and for 45 minutes we got as close as any sensible person would want. I would thoroughly recommend this trip. Wrap up warm and take your camera. It is a life affirming trip that brings you closer to nature than y

Must see! The whales were amazing. But take warm clothes even if it is very warm on the land.

Beyond my expectations

I expected a long boat trip with some sightings of sea lions but it was so much more than that. The whales were feeding but because they were, the feeding frenzy of the hundreds of sea lions and seabirds was marvelous to witness. The whales seemed to drive the fish to the surface which activated the sea lions to surge en mass across the water. It resembled a boiling cauldron immediately followed by the whales feeding & tail flipping. It was exciting and a complete thrill. I took the precaution of taking sea-sickness medication and would recommend that people should because the sea was quite choppy and its too good an experience to spoil by being ill.

Whales and Sea Lions--What's not to like?

Altho it was sunny and warm on shore, I'm glad I listened to friends and took a windbreaker jacket! I paid the extra $20 to be on the top deck, and it was worth it to me to be a bit higher for a better view, but the outing would have been just fine if I had not. The boat was well equipped, and the staff courteous and knowledgeable. My day was magical--when the whales spouted, rainbows ensued! Not every day is the same, but I think if there are whales out there, Princess Cruises will find them!

It was o.k. , but my son was sea sick and I had to tend to him. So it wasn't the best experience. I wouldn't recommend for people that have a hard time walking or standing. You will need to in order to see well. Bring sandwiches and snacks and sea sick pills. Warm clothes needed even on warm days.

Thoroughly enjoyed the smaller vessel. Saw many whales, some came fairly close to our boat. The naturalist on board really enhanced our trip out into the bay by identifying and giving background information on each of the mammals, jellyfish, etc.,we saw

This was way beyond our expectations. We saw hundreds of feeding sea lions and dozens of whales, up close and active.
