Had an amazing time, saw humpback whales, blue whale and Risso's dolphins. Many jellyfish in the ware as well. The guide gave lots of interesting information and clearly had passion for what he did. Crew regularly checked guests for seasickness and overall safety. Had a great time and would do it again!

Excellent trip saw humpback whales which was exciting. Staff very good and knowledgeable. Arrived early and we were asked if we wanted to take earlier boat as the one we booked was full and this one was not. We did and everything was great.

Great time. Saw humpback mother with calf and lots of dolphins and sea lions. Had plenty of room to move about the vessel. We were on the Greatland.

There were so many times we saw the whales come up. We also saw dolphins a couple of times. The guide was very knowledgeable and came down and answered our questions. Such a fun trip!

We did get to see 2 humpback whales in the beginning. It was fun even though they were rather far away. The Captain talked about the whales. After a while of following the 2 whales the said we are going to look for more. We drove for an hour and 1/2 off the coast and they never explained anything. The rest of the trip we didn't see anything other then a bird and they never said a word on the loud speaker. I felt left in the dark. I had more fun watching sea lions on the dock.

Our 1st whale watching tour

This being our 1st WW tour we were very exciting and not really sure of what to expect. When we saw our 1st blowhole spouting we were very excited. We saw 3 humpbacks on the 2 1/2 hour tour, all from a distance. The skipper seemed to be chasing them to get a closer view for the customers(which after researching I found out isn't cool) to no avail., they just keep swimming faster, the boat couldn't keep up! After awhile the bio naturalist announcer didn't talk much, she seemed to stop being interested or informative. We live only 1 1/2 hours from Monterey, so we will go on other WW tours from the competitors, just to compare and get a feel about other companies and their operations. We are hooked on Whale Watching.......also it was a "piece of cake" using Zerve to purchase our tickets.

July 2013 Family Whale Watch

29th July 2013. Myself, my wife, and two teenage daughters (15 and 13). We all enjoyed this, especially because as well as some humpbacks we had the luck to see a Blue Whale! I would definitely recommend this but here are some things you should consider: 1. It is chilly, even in July! Make sure you take some layers (a sweater or hoodie AND a waterproof coat) even if it is hot when you leave. The rapid return at the end is cold and wet. 2. It is crowded. Even though there are enough seats and everyone sits on the way out, as soon as whale is spotted everyone crowds to the point on the boat that faces the whale and it is difficult to see especially for smaller children. So be prepared to move around a lot... no time for just sitting! 3. You do not get as close as you would like to the whales. This is understandable but it means that if you want photos make sure you have a good lens. 4. If you want good photos, make sure your camera has a "burst" mode (continuous pictures while the shutter is pressed). The whales appear briefly and in unpredictable places so are difficult to catch on film. Alternatively just look, enjoy and remember.
