wonderful adventure

My boyfriend and I live in San Jose, and we came to Monterey on Valentines Day. We spent a couple of days doing fun and romantic adventures. I surprised him with a whale watching trip. He had never been on one before, and he loves the ocean......sharks, whales, sea lions, etc. He absolutely loved it. He wandered around the boat taking pictures of everything. He pretty much stayed at the front of the boat the whole time looking for whales. He was like a little kid. I myself was feeling a wee bit sick(even though I did take a dramamine) so I stayed seated at the back of the boat. Afterwards he couldnt wait to show me the pictures he had taken. We saw Dolphins and Whales that day,and the guide was very informative and the crew were very friendly and helpful. What a wonderful adventure.

Was fun! Cold, but fun! We only saw one whale, but he did like 3 or 4 dives for us. Also saw lots of sea lions. I'd recommend it and I'd go again, but in my opinion, not for kids under 8. The waves were very rocky the day we went and it's hard for little ones to see over the edge of the boat.

Very enthusiastic about the tour and very knowledgeable about Monterey Bay. Very friendley. We went when the wheather wasnt so nice, we didnt see any whales, a little disapointed w/that. There were a few sea otters but thats a given. Not their fault we didnt see any thing. Nice sized boat and felt very comfortable.

Our two-hour whale-watching voyage was fortunate to encounter three sets of gray whales and a floating elephant seal in Monterey Bay. The weather was perfect!

We had a fabulous time and saw lots of whales breach the water. It was awesome. We didnt see any dolphins, but we still had a great time on my sister's 40th birthday. :)

Staff was professional and courteous. The boat (Princess) was stable and well-kept. My 3-year-old had a great time. We're doing it again in Summer.

Monterey Whale Watching: A

My mom was in town so we went online to search for whale watching tours. Though the Princess Monterey was among the more expensive groups, it was well worth it. The boat had a heated cabin which was nice as it was January, and the tour was led by a marine biologist who was very well informed but presented material in an absorbable manner. Did you know that whales may live more than 200 years? The sights were fantastic! We saw gray whales surface before we were even out of the harbor, 15 migrating whales total in the time we were out there, sea lions, sea otters and a variety of birds. I expected a lot of waiting for a brief glimpse but we spotted them within 15 minutes of our arrival and they surfaced from deep dives every 12-16 minutes. The guide provided signs to watch for such as flocks of birds fishing from the schools of fish driven up from a whale dive and it was very exciting when someone from the group spotted a whale. This was a very enjoyable activity which I recommend here and to everyone back home.
