| Tour operators provide a fun, safe environment for tourists to view whales as they migrate. They did their best to make sure that all passengers on the tour boat had an opportunity to observe the whales while being respectful of the animals. The tour guide provided useful information during the trip and added some fun for little kids as well. We bought tickets ahead of time but people were able to pick up tickets at the wharf right before the boat was leaving for a cheaper price. Depending on demand you may be able to get a good deal. |

| only change is that while speaker system was good, marine biologist spoke too loud at beginning, but better when around the whales |

| The crew and marine biologist were enthusiastic and helpful.
Just be prepared for the environment and potential bumpy ride. Our sighting of whales was limited due to the large swells. Many on the ride got seasick. Great weather though. I would try again if the opportunitiy came up. |

| My brother has a terminal illness and we took his 4 kids (age 19-28) on the Princess Monterey tour. When Benji signed us in at the counter he did not tell us that if the swell conditions were any worse they would have cancelled the trip. If we would have known how bad the swells were, we would not have gotten on the boat. Instead, my brother, who has only months to live, watched his children wretch over the side of the boat for two hours. Although the tour guide said there were whales, the kids did not see them because the waves were too high and blocked the view. I thought it was very unprofessional that the crew did not warn us beforehand, and that the company did not provide a chalkboard to describe daily ocean conditions so we could have made another decision. They only wanted to keep our money. |

| The trip was all around great. We had a wonderful time and the crew was very knowledgable. We're considering doing it again in May to see the Hump Back Whales.
Thanks so much for a wonderful trip. |

| Trip was well organized, tour guide was loud but nice. Overall satisfied, just seeing more whales would be better - which is beyond your control... |

| My husband and I took our first whale watching trip this past weekend. I would recommend this company above all else. I did research other companies and choose this company because 1)the size of the boat; (I think that is one of the most important things-thats a big ocean out there); 2) the ease of making reservations, 3) persons that greeted us were great; 4) the naturalist that accompanied us was the greatest as well as being informative; 5) crew was very knowledgeable about were the whales might be and they were; 6) the price for the trip was very good making even a person walking by able to get reservations and it didn't break their pocket book.
We had a very rocky trip especially when we got to the westernmost part. I do not hold the company responsible for the weather or the water but I have never seen so many people seasick. Even the people who took seasick meds beforehand.
A suggestion, telling people to go to the back of the boat to help with their seasickness seemed like a good idea. However, when you head to the back of the boat you are guaranteed to get sick. The diesel fuel smell is really strong back there. I know it is a good place to tell everyone who is going to get sick to go but staying back there doesn't help recover from being seasick.
Overall, it was a great trip, saw lots of whales especially on the way back in to port.

| I was a bit disappointed when my boyfriend and I showed up a half an hour early and a large amount of people were already waiting. Because they had booked the Princess on a private charter, we were forced to wait over a half an hour past our 10:00 departure time. The crew aboard was super nice and helpful though which was a major plus. They had alot to deal with since most of the boat's participants were sea sick but they still had smiles and wonderful things to say. I was astounded at their enthusiasm in such circumstances. The trip itself was fun, not what I had expected as the sea was much more rough than I would have ever imagined but we did see some whales. It was a great trip for the price and I was glad to see whales. I will make sure that the seas are a bit more calm the next time I go though!!!! |
