My friend (from Calimesa, CA) and I (from San Francisco) both loved it. We came prepared with gloves and hats and had dressed in layers. This is my third time whale watching, and this was the first time I've actually seen whales. I've been to San Juan Islands in Washington and to Long Beach, CA without any success. I wish I could have seen an Orca, but the greys were fine. The captain was a wealth of information, and the crew (A.J. and Ben) were great. When the whales spouted the first time, Ben came right over and pointed out where they were. A.J. was telling me about the humpback whales and that they're around a lot during the summer. I'm thinking of dragging my husband along so I can see a humpback. If he agrees to come, I will book again through Zerve. |

My daughter & I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. My daughter had a mild case of seasickness but still enjoyed it. We would have loved to have been able to get better pictures. Still a great experience. |

if no whales are seen, or terrible weather occurs, perhaps a discount can be offered for a future tour? |

My 18 year old son and I took the tour on March 23, 2011 at 10 am. It was a rainy misty morning, with the ocean rather rough. The crew made it clear how to avoid motion sickness, which I followed and it worked for me (besides taking motion sickness pill before the trip). It didn't matter for my son-he was fine. The crew was good, helpful with people who did feel sick. My only suggestion is that who ever speaks to the people via the intercom speak slower and clearer. I felt it was difficult to understand him, especially in the cabin. He did spend enough time looking for the whales and following them once they were spotted. I'm sure he follows the other boats in the are also. Overall, it was a good experience. |

My son and friend and I took this tour on St. Patrick's Day this year, and really enjoyed it. Not only do you get to see seals, dolphins and whales (we saw gray whales, but missed out on the Humpbacks, as they had just started to be spotted a couple of days prior, for the season), but you also get a very relaxing and scenic boat ride! The day we went out, the swells were rather high, so a few people turned a little green and got sick, so a word of warning to anyone who is prone to sea sickness...take your sea sickness medication prior to the trip! It was beautiful weather and the captain and crew were all very friendly and often checked the passengers to make sure they were all right and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this tour! |

The weather looked great but as we went further out it turned foggy and choppy. Even though a large portion of the passengers became ill because of the weather, the crew worked hard to help us get better and took great care of us. We did see some whales but were all happy to return back to the harbor. |

We had an excellent and incredible whale watching tour. The narrator was a marine biologist who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We saw several gray whales during our 3 hour tour and also dolphins. I would highly recommend Monterey Whale Watching Cruises. They are professional and it is a good opportunity to see the bay and its marine life up close. |

Other tour boats came and went and we were still out there looking at the whales. Think we more than got our moneys worth. |

We saw a group of gray whales on the tour, which was exciting, but I thought we'd be able to get closer to see them. I suppose there are regulations which govern distances to marine life, but being told this ahead of time would have mitigated my disappointment with the distance. |

Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable crew . They worked hard to find as much sea life as possible and did not seem to rush through the experience. Highly recommend ! |

My 11 year old son and I took an afternoon whale watching excursion recently. The Princess crew found 3 gray whales shortly after we got out on the ocean. 4 other boats were in the area, so we ventured further south looking for dolphins, since it was fairly crowded around the whales. Unfortuntely we did not find any dolphins, but ended up with a nice boat ride in the sun. When we returned, we spent about 1/2 hour following the whales, this time with no other boats around, and 1/2 hour beyond what we had expected.
It was a great experience. We highly recommend it. |

The rough weather prevented my enjoying the whale watching cruise. I could not see the whales well at all. The weather was cold & stormy. I wish that we had not spent the money on it. |
